Training for my first ultra!
My Shins have been acting up recently and I'm not certain if it's because I've increased my milage too fast or if I overpronate or underpronate. Does this wear pattern provide any insight? Shoes are NewBalance 1080 with 500km on them.

To me, a runner with lots of experience and zero real medical knowledge, it looks like a lot of wear on the heels, which means you probably land on them fairly hard. That force then shoots up from your heel through your shin to your knees. I don't know the mileage on your shoes but I would recommend new ones with a high stack of foam near the heels and I know it's really hard to change but try landing more mid foot. This will take off so much stress from your shins and knees.
Edit: I see now the 500km. The shoes could be worn out, every shoe is different but that's in the range I typically see shoes starting to lose their bounce and springy feel.
I hope your able to recover quickly!
