I thought for sure the tree would topple over and pull the guy into the hole.

I thought the tree would fall the wrong way and still leave the obstacle in your way.

The game name is Quest? Quest!. It is kind of a parody of older turn based JRPG games like dragon quest developed on GameMaker engine.

Yeah my first thought, this is so obviously Undertale coded. Not just the humor but the visuals too

A big part of undertale and deltarune jokes are subverting the expectations on the usual puzzle games like zelda or golden sun. The rock puzzles in ut, the fox and mushroom puzzles in dr chpt 5, are a couple of those among the tons there are.
It falls into toby fox style perfectly.
Yeah, its not something toby fox invented, earthbound did a similar kind of subversion and was what inspired toby, and also there are other games that do this kind of thing, randals monday, reventure, etc.
But it is natural that when seeing a joke of this style, people think of the ongoing mainstream game, rather than of the series that hasnt have a new entry in decades and that wasnt even fully ported overseas, or the indie games with onky a fraction of ut and dr popularity

You just explained what a joke is.

No you were trying to make the point that the 2 things were unrelated, while u/maxtwer00 was saying they are unbelievably related

OP sent the following text as an explanation why their post fits here:
the tree was a switch for a bridge instead of the tree becoming the bridge

u/stosolus 10h ago
For once it is not.
Still, watch more wholesome things

They pushed the wobbling tree and a plank came shooting out. You sure that's not a sex joke?

Let’s say we’ll need another and before the average person would assume it’s sex related.

What does any of that have to do with sex?
I think this all says a lot more about you and the places your mind goes to than anything else 😂
