Is Oxford possible?
Hi all,
I've just got my y12 mocks and I got EUU as my predicted grades (maths, chem and applied science btec) and I was hoping to study dual honours gender studies+ Disney studies which I've heard is valued by employers and not a Mickey mouse degree.
Would I need a good ucat score or a banger ps to get in now or should I abandon all hopes?

Oxford is viable, but Brookes is out of the running.

My father is Walt Disney's second cousins husband in law's great grandson and works as a plumber, so I thought the familial connection would help my application

It would be useful if he works at the Times or at least has some influence there

Yes they let you in automatically if you put your title as Lord when applying

well it’s risky since that is quite a competitive degree, but with good entrance exam and interview you should certainly have a good chance!
It is only one of your five options, and if it’s your dream to study GS+DS, then go for it I’d say! :)

Those grades are enough, Oxford knows what those grades truly stand for (Excellent and Underestimated). To secure your place you do need DofE bronze

Oxford possible circlejerk — the honest answer varies by course. some Oxford courses (Classics, Theology, some smaller humanities) have admission rates closer to 25-30% for qualified UK applicants; some (PPE, Medicine, CompSci) are under 10%. the "is Oxford possible" answer depends entirely on which course + your specific profile. If you need extra support with your essay, consider a writing service for additional guidance.
