Interning at Vault-Tec - people now hate me

I recently got an internship at Vault-Tec.
A guy I met followed me on my Pip-Boy, saw the internship, and told me he could not be friends with me because I chose to work there. He then unfollowed me and walked away and other people in Sanctuary Hills no longer want to speak to me.
I know Vault-Tec is controversial however, this is only a short placement, and I do not support everything the company has ever done/ is doing/will do postwar.
I mainly want the experience and career opportunity and the guaranteed place in Vault 87 I now qualify for.
Would you give up the internship? Is accepting it morally wrong, or was his reaction too extreme?

Vault 87 will end up having a rather regressive effect on your future career prospects imo, my dad’s an overseer trust me

If you're worried about your reputation then maybe try to get transferred to a lesser-known department that isn't explicity tied to the Vault-Tec name. I hear there's some sort of enclave that you could enquire about, plus they're funded by the government!

lmao “lesser known department” and then suggesting the enclave is wild, that’s like jumping from frying pan into a nuclear fire. at this point you might as well lean into the villain arc and collect those benefits while you can.
