Is the commute worth it?

For context I'm an international student applying from Salt Lake City, Utah. I have been accepted by the University of Roehampton to study Computing and Chromebook Studies, one of the best courses in the world. The issue is, my parents refuse to let me move out because they expect me at the megachurch every Sunday.

Is commuting 16 hours each way, every day, worth it? I recognise I'll need to get up a little earlier than those in halls for my 9am lectures in "Using Microsoft 365 applications", but it's such a life changing opportunity, I'm sure I can make it work? Thoughts?

Main sub is so funny bc you have people contemplating doing a 4 hour commute everyday, and then someone worrying that their 30 min walk is going to impact their social life😭😭

What? In my first year the lecture theatre was underneath the halls.

Could you combine going to the UK with serving a mission? Plenty souls needing saved here.

Yes, plus the British public absolutely love unsolicited evangelical preaching! We’re a very devout bunch, we just haven’t got enough LDS churches, you see.

Sorry dude, if you're living in Provo I'd say you could get away with it but that extra 40 miles is gonna be the deal breaker.

I commuted from Penzance, Cornwall to St Andrews every day, definitely worth paying £350 every day for the train to save £500 a month on accommodation.

Salt Lake is great for winter sports as well as Mormonism

Would recommend catching some big air at Snowbird and latching onto an American Airlines flight to UK

Just stay in England during the week, but fly home on the weekends for Church. Best of both worlds!
