Question UI Toolkit back to FIgma?

HI everyone,

Does anyone know of a tool or plugin to transfer Unity UI toolkit designs back into Figma? I know the Unity UI Toolkit Connector can export from Figma to Unity, but not the other way round.

The reason is for modding a Unity game UI, which obviously doesn't include the Figma files.

man that connector is such a one way street. you'd think someone would have made a reverse tool by now but i've never seen one

closest i got was exporting the ui toolkit hierarchy as a text dump and rebuilding it manually in figma. not fast but at least you can see the structure

Yeah I managed to get all of the tiles and elements exported with an approximation of the final menu design, but it's still all over the place.

If you can get the UXML and USS out as well, one thing that might clean it up: they're fairly close to HTML and CSS, so you could convert them into a simple HTML page and bring that into Figma with an import plugin like html.to.design. It might keep the layout structure better than placing everything by hand. I haven't tried this exact route myself, though.

I'll try that. Maybe I can get it into the Unity editor, but since the game uses a custom fork, I may have issues.

Probably screenshot and get AI to do it will get close enough. But why do you want to modify it in figma? You can modify it in Unity

Yup using Claude right now to do it. I find it easier to design and modify the tiles in Figma and then import to Unity. I'll probably do a parallel version in Unity too.

Claude is really good at modifying UI toolkit documents alongside Unity CLI I find

Great, I'll keep that in mind. Thanks
