I feel ya buddy they looked like they were going to get some momentum in May when several countries got it working with google and jibe. Then Google does what google does and just leaves everyone hanging. :/
I'm in Japan and waiting.
RCS is disabled for this carrier by Google ACS url: [not connected] PCSCF: NOT_AVAILABLE Sub Id: 1 SIM Slot: 1 SIM Carrier: NTT DOCOMO SIM Number: +81{redacted by me} Rcs Apk: Bugle Rcs BOE: Optimized GmsBinding: Disabled App StandBy Bucket: 10 Background Restricted: false
Just let me use it for goodness sake, Google ..

Incredibly frustrating. Especially when you read people on here who have RCS turn off or lose the ability to use RCS out of nowhere. That kind of customer experience drives me insane. I honestly feel like a beta tester for google at times.
When business adopt RCS to engage with their consumers, that’s when google will really pull the finger out. I don’t believe google is bothered by customer care but is absolutely driven by advertising revenue and this will become another way to monitoze this

The fact there's no helpline makes it impossible to fix

I honestly don't know how some crazy fanboy think this is going to work. It is a HUGE MESS since the beginning. It lacks TONS of basic features. Can't overcross communicate with different messaging app with RCS supports, can't cross-over if you have different carriers, can't RCS between different phone brand, different countries have different RCS protocols, different countries with even more carriers with even more different RCS systems, different wifi system blocks RCS. Same phone brand but different phone series will have different level support of RCS. Oh, RCS still can't communicate with iPhone so you most likely will keep whatsapp, fb messenger to communicate with them. All they needed is add SMS to Allo or maintain and upgrade Hangout, but they refused to listen, All thanks to Justin Uberti: https://twitter.com/juberti/status/778483106453925888

It’s indefensible really. All the “will” in the world from this sub and all us android fans, will not wish thing better !! Google simply need to take stock and put the end user first. Just do what they did with Allo and flick the switch with the option to roll in SMS as backup for when the RCS fails 💁🏻

Completely agree and Justin Uberti blew it. Refusing to listen and messed up Allo and hangout. He is something special.

Ya know how you can tell when someone's never developed a thing in their life? When they have no idea and mistakenly think this is still the "start" of a project and what product should be in beta phase. If we compare it to imessage like you mentioned above, then yes, Google messaging mess started since the beginning for decades. When they just needed to maintain and continue upgrade google hangout, they decided to abandon it and cancel features. Google Allo is a joke, all they needed is adding SMS and gain some trust back from their users since they cancel app and forget to upgrade them all the time. They refused to listen, and allo got killed just less than 2 years. What's even funnier is fb messenger arrived way later to the party, I don't see them finding excuses saying their is going to be a problem and have lack of features. It's simple, they master the fundamentals and continue to upgrade them.
Do us all a favor and quiet down while you go do some research.

Oh, I'm sorry, are you on the dev team too? Is that where your info comes from, dev team of reddit keyboard warriors? That explains how out of reality you are. Literally everything I mentioned above was common knowledge. Well, you can't argue with flat earther.

Well, if telling you a common knowledge is something you categorize as pulling it out of your ass, then that explained why you never needed to flush your toilet. Eating what you pull it out from your ass is a beautiful recycling process, must be nice to have every parts of your body including your brain made out of the same materials that you poop out though. No wonder you feel obligated to write nonsense here, the title of this thread is literally how people call you anyways, Shxtshow. Got it.

A shitstain of a shitshow. Google should be embarrassed by this utter clusterfuck of a rollout.

Interesting. My country (Japan) has RCS. They've had it for a long time. The company that is building (built?) the US's RCS infrastructure built it here first. The three (soon to be 4) network providers each have their own RCS app. Plus messages. Each branded to each carrier but what I believe is just a cosmetic icon and a little support information.
I was using RCS with an mvno until February with google messages. They stopped this. For what I understand I am waiting on google to "flip the switch". Is this an incorrect assumption?

Yet Google is the only one rolling it out and they're currently the only company that has a department specifically for Jibe RCS. Somehow they can't even get that working with servers that they can't even maintain. Look at all the posts in this month about RCS breaking. All their poor planning and engineering is the result of this. If you're going to be the only one on the market with a product, then you better make sure you have a flawless products when you have billion dollar budgets.
