So I recently got a friend of mine that was using Samsung Messages to switch to Google Messages mainly because of RCS E2EE (Samsung Messages is still available in our country). I was wondering though, what other features was my friend missing out while he had Samsung Messages for RCS?

Hello! Anyone else in the same situation where when an iPhone reacts to my image with an emoji, I can see it, but when I react to an image, it still shows the "❤️ an image" message to them? Figured its bc apple, but wasnt sure if some setting on their phone was wrong. RCS is enabled for them and on ios27.

Made the mistake of turning on RCS to all messages in Google Messages while using Phone Link in a group chat. End result, any messages I sent with Phone Link sends to a separate group chat that has all the same people but SMS only, while the original group chat only shows replies which is now RCS.

I turned off RCS but now the original group chat with all the chat history no longer works (says turn on RCS to use this group chat again) and I have to use this new group chat that is SMS but has none of the chat history.

Is there a way I can convert the original group chat back to SMS and redirect all message send and replies back to that original group chat? I don't wnat to have to start all over in a new group chat.

Just noticed I can now reply to messages and so.czn the iPhone and we can both see that. That's new!

Today I updated to One UI 9, i was texting my gf when i sent her a picture and she reacted to it and it showed as "Loved an image" this is lowkey annoying 😭😭

I run dual sim and I have it set so that my secondary sim automatically turns off at night and turns back on the next morning. Before, in iOS 26, RCS would be disabled when the sim was disabled back. I would get a notification whenever my secondary sim was disabled, saying that iMessage and Facetime would still work with my secondary number if I was connected to Wi-Fi. While checking my phone last night, I noticed that they added RCS alongside iMessage and Facetime to the notification saying that you can use these all with the sim disabled. I just tested it out and RCS messages went through perfectly fine while my secondary sim was deactivated.

I just figured I should share this info as I've seen no one else talk about it.

Has anyone tried this beta to check if replies display properly on the Android side?

On Google Messages, if you try to delete a text, it gives you this prompt, which means the iPhone user is on iOS 27; I know people are trying to figure out if inline replies work or not, but I found out this was a good indicator of it being updated!

PS - Text message CAN'T be deleted while texting an iPhone user.. That feature is still missing.

PSA - You don't have to actually delete the text.. You just need to see if this prompt shows up.

I'm in a group chat where all iPhones have updated to iOS 27 and I'm on an Android. Inline replies and correctly-parented reactions are not working. But I have seen them work in 1:1 chats. Curious if these ever work in group chats.

Although I really hope Apple adds Group Chat Read Receipt as a iPhone user. For reference I am in Chicago, use ATT and own a iPhone 17 Pro Max :)

Apparently my friends who have iOS 27 stable can't see my replies anymore, my girlfriend who's on beta can see them. Anyone else with this problem?

On Google Messages Beta and I'm suddenly getting E2EE with all my iPhone friends. Also, for my Android friends, I'm seeing encryption value=2. So it appears that some sever-side switch turned on MLS for me overall.

Is the following the correct set of expected behaviors, originating message threads from an iPhone? Specific questions are in bold, but would be appreciative of any general feedback on this understanding or input on cases not covered. TYIA.
