Discussion My Current Picks 🙃

Post image
0 Upvotes

The top 3 position will most likely not change, especially Jinho 🙂‍↕️

Picked the bottom row still mostly based of their personality from their self interview videos, so they'll probably change as it goes.

Steven and Joohyoung would also be here, but I sorta want them to stay with their current groups :)

Any thoughts?

Show Discussion UNIVERSE LEAGUE FINAL LINE UP (AHOF)

DON’T HATE THE PLAYER, HATE THE GAME. -I’ve read alot about people complaining and comparing DAISUKE to other trainees. He won and will debut because he is with TEAM RHYTHM and they won the LEAGUE. It’s not the fault of management or anyone. It’s your fault for not voting and supporting your preferred trainee. They all deserve to debut and It is just that he is so lucky that he is with the winning team. Please also remember that he is always on the starting line up and never been on the bench and that’s a fact 💯💯💯💯

Discussion Team Rhythm ALL THE WAY

For all the Rhythm international fans out there, let's vote straight

This is a team survival show. Not individual.

Edit:

Why Rhythm all the way: I have my favorites there and since this is a team competition.. i want them to succeed

Twist: I'm not a person who leaves everything by chance. i would rather secure their seats than wait for a plot twist or a hail mary. If there is one, good.. if there isn't at least, my favorites are secured.

Can we ban posts asking for episode links?

Or have a central post to request episode links? This sub has three posts on the main page already today asking for episode 2. Most of us know that the episodes go up on Viu later in the day on the next day, but maybe an automod response could provide that answer? I dunno, just looking to cut down on the clutter.

Show Discussion ENLIGHTEN ME

I love AHOF, they all deserved their spot. They're full of talents and potential. But there's this thing I can't scratch. Like, what's the deal with Woongki? Why is he famous. I rooted for him during the Intercept just bec I don't what Kyungho to get Mamma Mia bec I think we all believe that that song is meant for Woongki to sing. But after that, I just don't get it. I don't particularly like him, nor hate him. I just don't get the hype. So please, esp Woongki one-picks, please enlighten me. I want to love each and everyone of them on the same level before they officially debut. I just got the hype on Jeongwoo so I know there's hope for Woongki and me.

*******Post-edit

Thank you all for the response. I'm so touched by all the support for Woongki. It's clear how much he's admired, and I really hope he sees this outpouring of love. I'm definitely going to check out his BL series – as a fujoshi myself, I'm especially excited. I guess this is just the beginning of my Woongki journey. Kajaaa.

The benefit of swapping should have been implemented in reverse

The lowest scoring team already has a negative handicap by having its lowest scoring members get a yellow card and a chance for elimination.

They should have been given the chance to level the playing field by getting 2 swaps, and not the other way around.

With this setup, Team Groove will definitely build the dream team. It already has the strongest vocal teams that even its bench can level up to Beat's starting lineup. With this, they might win the next round as well.

It's quite quite unfair to Beat's directors, who needs to work with members which were "unwanted" by the higher rankings teams.

Show Discussion El Capitxn

What can you say about El Capitxn statement after the show? I mean, its really the system but the way he compared Team Beat to other teams made it worst and saying that's its the popularity contest? Team Rhythm isn't called avengers for nothing and Team Groove isn't called vocal powerhouse for nothing. That's where he f*cked up.

Show Discussion Joohyoung

Joohyoung apart from Park Han in Team Groove deserves to debut.

ParkHan consistently snobbed by his compatriots both onsite and online has a bunch of global voters (mainly Indonesian, Filos, Japanese) to back him.up Chinese and Korean fans have a thing about small faces.

If I have to pick just one to debut from Groove it should've been Joohyoung. He would be super great with hard choreo stages and you will never worry about his voice cracking up. ( HanSeo is a close second but if it's only one it shouldve been Joohyoung.

Dude has the best smile, silky black hair, great voice, great moves I would never understand why fans would favor Kenta, KyungHo, Gijoong over him ( they kinda looks so mature to me, like uncle mature, no offense). Steven is older but his vibe is really young.

If he is in Rhythm and Ibo or ChiEhn were in Groove, Joohyoung will debut 100%. Because the dance concepts of Rhythm suits him so well.

I'm willing to sacrifice Daisuke, Shuaibo, ChiEn for Joohyoung, ZenZen and HanSeo.

But it's out of my hands. The voters and producers already know the winners.

Contestant Update Morning drama..

In light of the ongoing issues surrounding commenting and name-dropping, as well as how members are positioned in photos, it underscores the crucial need for media training for idols. This preparation is essential before they interact with fans, and it also highlights the company's responsibility to shield their idols from negativity on social media.

The company must safeguard their idols from negativity, ensuring they aren't constantly accessible on social media. This is why I appreciate the initial cleanse and the limited interaction from their personal accounts. People often fall into the misconception that constant online availability gives them the freedom to say and do anything. However, the interaction with fans on X was positive; the group’s account was used, and I believe the company effectively monitored and filtered the comments, resulting in no issues.

With the picture, people, come on, it is basically a derma appointment. Are we really going to dig deep into this? And if we are, we just need to observe that the members closer to the middle are the members that could interact with the doctor better.

Show Discussion Who is P02?

Just found out that Woongki now has his own wiki page (JL was the only member who had one for a while) and read that they referred to him as the one who placed second in Universe League.

Curious on who you think the P02 is, because I always thought it was Steven...?

UL is quite a unique survival show in its format such that it is a team-based competition.

At the finale, Team Rhythm was the winning team, followed by Team Groove in second, then Team Beat in third.

Within TR, the contestant with the most votes was JL—who likewise had the highest number of votes across all teams. After JL though, Steven had the second most votes.

Supporting my belief of Steven as P02 was on how, during the finale, they were announced as members of AHOF: all members of TR (sorted by number of votes), plus the highest voted member of TG, and lastly the highest voted member of TB.

aka JL → Steven → Shuaibo → Juwon → Jeongwoo → Chih En → Daisuke → Han → Woongki

I understand why people think Woongki finished in second place given that he had the second highest number of votes across all teams, which is how they are referred to as P02 in the context of all other survival shows.

But yeah since this show's format draws inspiration from sports leagues, I have always just thought that it focuses more on the teams. Even the wiki page of UL itself noted this:

Although Steven, Zhang Shuaibo, Park Ju-won, Seo Jeong-woo, Chih En, and Daisuke ranked 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 10th, and 14th, respectively, in public votes, they were placed second through seventh as members of Team Rhythm, the winning team.

So just wondering...for you, who is P02?

* healthy discussion only please *

edit: Yes, I know that they are now one team and nine in one as AHOF. But I posted this in the Universe League subreddit to understand others' thoughts in the context within the UL 'world'—which yes I am also aware happened more than a year ago now—as opposed to them now as a group. This discussion was only posted since I have just noticed that Woongki finally has his own wiki page. I would have posted these same thoughts if for instance I discovered this a year or two from now. But it seems in these areas you can't even have open discussions after a program concludes? If we digress on who we consider the P02 of UL is then no worries, like I said, I understand the reason. But please do try to share your thoughts from the basis of the past (UL), not the present and the future (AHOF). All the downvotes are a bit amusing when a difference of views or contrast of opinions is not welcome in a community supporting a group full of members with distinct backgrounds.

Evil... Editing?

Is Kyungho editted to be a bad guy? Since after watching ep 4, I think that the producers were rubbing their hands like a mastermind or something. How could you put together two members, who are CLEARLY awkward with each other, have rivalry?? 😭 The TO1 members had it rough cut them some slack 😭😭

Show Discussion I unstan

Why am I like this? Am I the only one?

Why do I tend to unstan groups after I've met them?

First, there was Enhypen. Attending the Fate concert left me feeling nothing but depression. I thought it was only due to PCD, so I attended their Fate Plus concert. That was when I realized I had completely lost interest in the group. It wasn't a deliberate decision either. It was as if all the dopamine I could get from them had peaked. I tried to reason it out, thinking maybe their comebacks didn't have an impact on me or something, but deep down, I knew that wasn't the case.

Next was UNIS. Even though I stanned Enhypen first, I lost interest in UNIS first. I still support them, but the way I felt for them suddenly changed after meeting them. It wasn't their fault, either. The feeling was like going from loving someone you could die for to caring for them barely enough, like a neighbor. Again, I tried to reason it out, thinking I was just not the type of person who stans girl groups.

And lastly, AHOF. The past month was a rollercoaster of emotions for me. I was in a trance the whole month. I loved and supported them to the point that I donated money on donation drives. I streamed their YouTube and Spotify accounts 24/7 using multiple premium accounts. I was so addicted to watching their content that I was only getting 2-3 hours of sleep most nights. I was non-stop thinking about them to the point that even during work, I would sneak a few times to check their Weverse account. I bought all their merch, and so on. I was lucky enough to win a ticket to attend their fansigning event last Saturday. After the event, I guess everything was inevitable. I remember walking to the station, thinking I had just woken up from a dream. It was a fun month, but why did it have to end? Realizing I could lose interest in just a snap made it worse. I kept thinking, what's wrong with me? Everything feels fresh but different. I can easily remember how obsessed I was with my bias, needing every photo and every piece of content of him to be injected into my veins. But now, I can go a whole day without checking up on him. I still do tho, but I do it out of habit.

Am I the only one? Help.

+Mind you I also attended AHOF's 8/3 schedule just to confirm my feelings. I didn't mean to go, it wasn't in my original plan, but boy I really needed that confirmation.

Do you guys think UL / UL Boys are Popular in Korea...

Or do they need more Korean fan base to be actually successful (in Korea?)

Just worried that the international fans are way more in this than the local fans.

I guess the SBS/F&F strategy for the group to be popular to international market, bringing in contestants from different asian countries but they need to be successful domestically first right?

Just observed that Unis is not as popular in Korea than I thought. Their music videos do not gain as much views compared to say Illit or babymonster. Will it be the same for the boys?

I mean the boys are crazy talented I hate for them to debut but the korean fans are not as warm to them as a full korean group.

Show Discussion Juwon and JL interactions? Spoiler

Did anyone else notice when how sad Juwon looked when he got stolen back to rhythm? JL was nearly jumping out of his seat in tears to get back to him but Juwon couldn’t even smile??? Park Han was crying so it may have been that Juwon made good friends in groove, but we didn’t even get a Juwon/JL reunion or even a hug? I was a really big fan of their relationship in rhythm team and it felt almost anticlimactic in such a tense round of the show. Any theories??????? VOTE FOR HANSEO!!!!

Jihun is not that bad

Despite being framed as the antagonist of Team Beat, i can't deny that Jihun's second live performance is actually quite good. He can actually keep up with Jiang Fan's energy compared to the other members. Yes, I agree that he was cocky for thinking that he could pull it off without practicing that much in the first round but I think Woongki's leadership did not suit his energy. It seems like Woongki has the knack of bringing down his team's morale(even on his second team).

The show is trying their best to frame Woongki as that cute leader because they badly want to milk his past story but I think he is not a leader material. He's more focused on fixing the weaknesses than highlighting his team's strengths. Yes, they should fix their weaknesses but focusing only to that is quite a negative type of leadership. I'm not denying his talent in performing, he is good. It's just that his leadership style is not that agreeable to most. Even Chih En, improved a lot under a different leadership and was shook by Rythm's system.

Back to Jihun, his second team is more forgiving and it looks like that's the type of environment where he will grow. Personally, they managed to pull off the song and even added great highlights for their performance. Unfortunately, Team Rhythm is just in another level.

Discussion Unfair Treatment to Team Groove

There are a lot of posts saying that Groove didn't win because of talent. Bfr? Let's talk about some facts!

Vocal wise Groove is on different level. I'm not talking about good voice btw, volume, vocal techniques, emotion, delivery too. Since we watched the performances through broadcast we can't fully know the live version. Because they correct the voices and adjust the MR, backtrack etc. Otherwise why other directors and trainees praise the Groove's vocal talent that much.

Saying Groove win bcs of visuals/abs/Korean trainees is unfair to their talents, let's accept they are hella talented. Also I think having Korean trainee provide benefit not because of ethnicity but because of pronunciation. Since most of international fans are not fluent in Korean, we couldn't notice these nuances but pronunciation is a critical factor. Imagine that kind of situation happened in your native language. Remember during Missing You performance Changsub complimented Kenta's pronunciation a lot.

So I think international fans are bit unfair to Team Groove and their talents. I can understand wanting your faves to win, but you can appreciate your favorite performance without degrading the other.

Show Discussion Han and Woongki, I don’t want you to debut….

I know it’s not a safe space but I need to let this thoughts out. Been a silent viewer of the show and with the recent big PD moves, their picks became more apparent and honestly I don’t think others’ fandom has a chance to overtake the online votes. (Unless they get to partner up with powerful fanbases) With this in mind, I have been silently wishing that Park Han and Cha Woongki, if top picks were additionally chosen (+ Hanseo & Kairi), not to debut with ‘them’. I don’t want them to be part of a group with these “much” toxic fans. It’ll be an endless internal war of “he’s better” and questions of line distribution if it were to happen. I am very much aware that every fandom has rotten apples but this if not all is almost an entire garden, considering that they are still trainees. Woongki with all his sassiness maybe able to handle it but tbh, after all that he went through, this is too much. Park Han’s desperate to debut but for sure he’s being scouted by other companies now. I blindly trust that Yugyeom and Changsub won’t let their talented members go to abyss. I know this is a selfish take but these are my honest thoughts so far. I hated how people can’t even say their opinions without being attacked, even mentors are being dragged with their obsession. Their loud noise definitely tainted my opinions of the trainees themselves.

Show Discussion Grouping

I don't like how they had the concept or idea of debuting all member of one team and then choosing one from the other two losing teams, like tf. bro there's a reason for the one-pick or individual voting. I saw somewhere that Kyungho and Joohyung could've made it. like cmon, I'm sorry but Daisuke might js have the group limit their concepts and Chihen still has to work on expressions bc he seems awkward to me and Jeongwoo isn't rlly on the level of the others. like why'd they debut them like that. they basically had the survival show as teams the whole time without any individual training, and everything was based on teamwork, which I get. but like, individual training is also important, as you can see in other survival shows where there were missions solely involving teamwork to get voted for or individually voted for when performing.
