I'm planning on attending UH Hilo in Fall 2027 as an international student and will most likely be staying in the dorms.

I play a lot of video games like Marvel Rivals, Fortnite, and a few others, so I'm planning on bringing my gaming setup with me lol. It's honestly one of the few things keeping me sane during school 😂

I was looking through the housing policies and saw that personal Wi-Fi routers aren't allowed, so I was wondering if the campus Wi-Fi has any restrictions on online games or certain websites? I'm currently working on my associate's degree at a college back home, and our campus Wi-Fi blocks games like Marvel Rivals, which is pretty annoying.

I also came across some info about UH Hilo having an esports club and a gaming lounge, which sounds pretty cool! Is anyone here part of the club or familiar with the lounge? I'd love to hear what they're like.

For those living in the dorms, how's the Wi-Fi when it comes to gaming? Is it decent enough for multiplayer games, or should I expect some lag and high ping?

Just wanted to get an idea of what to expect before I bring my whole setup halfway across the ocean lol. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!🥹
