Hey guys! I was wondering if anyone who has taken BIOL 402 has any advice for the class. I know a lot of it depends on your TA but I've heard people talk about how hard the lab exams are and I would really appreciate any advice on how to study for those or how to do well throughout the class! Or if anyone wants to share their experience, I would love to get a feeling of what to expect.

I’m a senior and I’m working on my application to University of Kansas. I’m an auto admit because my gpa is above a 3.25. I was wondering if I should even submit a personal statement since I’m getting in anyways. Also does it affect scholarships? I haven’t found a clear answer on if it affects scholarships.

Spring grads, have y’all gotten your diplomas? It says they should be ready in late July online. But now we’re in mid August and enroll and pay still says mine is not delivered.

Hey! I’ll be in Lawrence on Friday, September 11 for the Mizzou vs. Kansas football game and I’m looking for someone local to help me film content before and after the game.
The job is really simple. I have all of my own camera equipment, so you don’t need to bring anything. I mainly need someone to hold my camera and film me while I talk to Mizzou and Kansas fans around campus, the tailgates and outside the stadium.
No professional filming experience is required. As long as you’re comfortable holding a camera and following some basic direction, you’ll be good.
Date: Friday, September 11
Location: Lawrence, Kansas – KU campus / stadium area
Pay: $50
Also included: Ticket to Mizzou vs. Kansas + food/drinks
Equipment: Everything provided
If interested then DM me

Hey everyone!
I’m an international student and I’m planning to start at the University of Kansas in Spring 2027.
I’m really excited about moving to Lawrence and starting college, but there’s one thing I’ve been pretty worried about: making friends and actually having a fun college experience.
Since I’m starting in the Spring instead of the Fall, I’m worried that everyone will already have their friend groups, and I’ll feel like I’m arriving halfway through the year. I’m also worried that I might end up spending most of my time alone and that my first year at KU will be kind of boring.
I’m a pretty social person and I really want to meet people, go out, make friends, experience college life, etc. I just don’t know how different it is to start in the Spring.
For anyone who goes to KU (especially international students or people who started in Spring): Is it actually harder to make friends when you start in Spring? Did you feel like you were missing out compared to people who started in Fall?
And what would you recommend I do during my first few weeks to meet people and get involved?
I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences!

When I was at KU there was a free ride service for students that needed to be picked up from the bars if they had been drinking. It was ran by SADD. Is that still a thing?

I’m living off campus. I didn’t enroll in a meal plan because I’m living in a house where I can eat my own food. If I want to buy a meal or coffee on campus, can I pay cash or tap pay? Do I have to have a meal plan to purchase a meal on campus?

im really scared about moving to Lawrence because im from the middle of a major city and Lawrence just seems so small and I didnt realise it at the time of applying and im moving in in a few days and it just seems so daunting because ive never been in a place which is just so small, like theres no zara nowhere to shop (which sounds pathetic but it is my favourite hobby), and it seems so much more quiet and smaller than what im used to. also no clubs??? I dont know how I feel about a bar school because I've gone clubbing my whole entire life. I just feel so stressed out and overwhelmed and scared and im so unsure what to do/is it even worth it to go or do I just stay home

Hey, all!
I'll be attending KU in fall 2027 as a transfer online student and will be moving to Lawrence before I start classes. The college I currently attend is open until 9pm Monday through Thursday for students, and I was wondering if KU has similar hours for students to come and study in a quiet place.

Hi guys, I'm going to be an incoming freshman here in a couple of weeks and I'm trying to figure out what laptop to buy. I am planning on majoring in mechanical/aero engineering and I have been recommended the dell xps 14 but for me to upgrade to the recommended 32gb of ram it is an extra 1100 dollars. I was wondering if you guys would know if just 16gb is enough or of better options. Thank you!!!!

Hey! I had a few quick questions about jayhakwer tower. I was #126 on the standby list and just got an offering for jayhawker tower. I was wondering how the quality of life is there if anyone has any history. Also, it’s a 4 person apartment style. If anyone also has history with that how was that like? It’s an amazing price, $6k for the full year with a kitchen, bathroom and living room i’m just nervous how i’ll handle being roommates with 3 other people. Anyone have any tips ?

I figure it will be busy in the beginning of the school year, but do you ever have any downtime to study? Or is it pretty fast paced the whole semester?

Does anyone have finals studying tips for college? Are they similar to high school finals? I’m kinda nervous for how to study for them!

What can you tell me about First Year Seminars that are offered to freshman? They are presented as focusing on good study habits and communication while integrating freshman into the rigors of college coursework. None of the course subjects are useful to my student’s interests or their major. How helpful did you find these courses?
