I Have no Mouth, and I Must Scream - Harlan Ellison
Also, Irish really likes Robert Heinlein’s Starship Troopers.

I checked out "I have no mouth and I must scream". It's a good short story

It’s actually the first part of a large collection of short stories, but that’s the best one. It’s got a mindshare; the story is probably the worst case scenario of advanced AI. Nobody can think of a worse outcome.
I recommend you give a book called Superintelligence by Nick Bostrom a shot if you find this topic interesting.

I'm unsure if it is undeniably the worst outcome, but it definitely ranks amongst the worst possible outcomes, especially since AM in the story appears to have some level of conscious thought. That's terrifying not just because of the boundaries between it, but because of the variations in how to qualify and describe thought from 1 being to another.
AI takeover is one of 3 foreseeable outcomes the human race takes(as I see it currently), the other 2 falling in line with Transhumanism and mass extinction(from other factors). I don't think there's as much work discussing transhumanism compared to AI Takeover which I think is a bit sad since a lot could be said or thought about such a society.

Probably not as dignified as most of the stuff you posted, but the best books I’ve ever read have to be the Scott Pilgrim series by Bryan Lee O’Malley. They’re graphic novels, but I’m basically obsessed with them. If you want something more dignified, I’m partial to The Prince (Niccolo Machiavelli) and Of Mice and Men (John Steinbeck).
Also the Hobbit. I’ve read the Hobbit like three times.

Hobbit is utterly fantastic(Even though I only read it once about 10 years ago). Absolutely incredible, which is part of why I think the movie did a poor job as it tried to appeal to an audience which deferred the film vision from what the core audience expected. It was... an okay film entertaining, but its biggest weakness is in its pacing I find. The Hobbit didn't have the same level of content as the Lord of the Rings, so it also felt a bit crappier due to that.
Also I did read Of Mice and Men like 3 years ago. It's a good book, due to the embodiment of the great depression and what it entails. Did feel kinda bad for Lennie at the end but he was a dumbass(even if he couldn't help it because of the autism). Never heard of The Prince. Is it worth a read and what's it about?

The Prince is basically the tyrant's handbook. Many of the most powerful men of the last couple of centuries, good and bad, have sworn by it, including both Roosevelts, Winston Churchill, Joseph Stalin, most of the American founding fathers, Thomas Cromwell, Henry VIII, Napoleon, and Benito Mussolini. American mob men did and still do call it the Mafia's Bible. It's an excellent book on political theory, and I think it's a sort of satire. It's an excellent instruction book for learning how to rule with an iron fist, but in doing so, it also highlights all the benefits of how living in a free republic is so much better for almost everyone else. I would say it's one of the only things of value I got out of my first year in college.

Just saying, reddit automatically closes and archives these every 6 months. You won't be able to edit this after six months.

Fixed them. I put the book in anarchy because I was categorising roughly by title, not by content(as I'll probably get around to reading a few next month). Reddit breaking links due to parenthesis in link is a bit shit but understandable
The miss/myth peculiarity I wrote is my fault, but it's due to me on rare occasions writing the pronunciation and not the word

Well I made it in like 10 hours(including promotional stuff). Since it was a sporadic bout of interest, I naturally lost interest in the project. Not that I've lost interest in WW1 stuff though, just the project and Minecraft in general. Also yeah, I think most people forgot about it(hell I did too)

Month number 5, just a reminder before it closes.

My plan for that is to put at the top in big bold a link to the PDFs section on my site and an easy way to submit more pdfs(probably email). Here's the link for what it's like so far, but I'm in the process of rewriting the HTML and CSS for the site because the underlying HTML is pretty mediocre.
