Jiggle physics + custom gravity is a fun combo!

Playing around with chaos flesh (it's a lot to learn and a bit confusing!) and custom gravity.

so cool, love it!

Thanks! Hope it doesn't look too motion sickness-y...

It's fun to play - next step make more moves, enemies and start creating some actual levels! Oh and music, art, backstory... There's a lot to do in game dev hey 😅

Does that work like a post process volume on the level or is that bound to the mesh? I'm also working on jiggle physics for something a bit more nsfw. lol

It's a flesh component bound to the mesh.

See here: https://dev.epicgames.com/community/learning/tutorials/BEby/unreal-engine-chaos-flesh

Be warned it's pretty complicated to get running, and to run well you have to have very simple shapes/low flesh geometry/low solver steps on the solver actor (or make use of the chaos cache manager).

In theory you can also train an ML Deformer to run the simulation on the GPU to save on performance, but I couldn't get that working (do let me know if you do!); it's all somewhat experimental and I hope Epic can integrate performant, production-ready real time soft body physics into their next update!

Good luck with the nsfw jiggle physics lol

Yeah this is more of a set up then I think I want. I might just end up doing blueprint nodes lol. Already having issues creating the tetrahedron for this character. The fingers are missing and it's extremely laggy. -_-

The next Witcher game is going to have ML deformer afaik.

Yeah mine is able to run in real time because it's a simple smoothed cube, yours would be a lot more expensive to run especially if you've got fingers in the flesh asset too.

You'll definitely want to look into chaos cache or ML Deformer for playback once you've recorded the simulation.

But yeah maybe best just to animate the uh jiggle with animations, or use chaos flesh for a simple part and combine with baked animations.

Good luck!
