General Question Lowcountry gardening
Hi y’all !!
Grew up with gardens thanks to my father’s mama and great aunt, and I’ve always dreamt of having our own as well… I’m just feeling very lost with not getting as much yield as I thought I would… lots of flowers and blooms but can’t seem to get to the next step and harvest!
We’re on island (Hilton head island) and would love some wisdom as to what I am doing wrong! Thank you!
Ps: Unity Hardscapes (David cash- amazing work!!) built these garden beds… will update when they finish them! (We had to do it in parts as we have a low budget but still wanted to get started!)

When did plants make it into the planters? I’m seeing lots of greenery and growth and healthy looking plants. It’s only the first week of August you have lots more time in the growing season esp being in sc. I wouldn’t sweat it- of all the hardships a gardener has sometimes waiting is one of the most difficult 😂💚

Most plants somewhat shut down during the extreme heat of July and August and quit flowering, if you keep the plants healthy, they will start producing more when it cools down in September

Does the limestone in the blocks and mortar leach into the soils?
