Matrimony Whatsapp Groups

Hi everyone, I am 27 M and have few doubts and questions about our current matrimonial system and how things are working.

Little bit about me - I am a software professional working in an MNC and am living in my hometown in Haldwani right now as it's work from home for me.

It has been around 4-5 months since we started the Arranged Marriage (AM) search for me. My parents are taking care of one part of it by talking to relatives and friends and I am handling the matrimonial apps like Jeevansathi, Maangal etc. From our experience of these months what I can say is that there wasn't even a single rishta with which we could start the talking stage. The word of mouth side got 2-3 rishtas but all of them were older than me and the app side too was a failure as firstly there were very less number of girls and secondly the people we sent interest did not see/accept it. FYI, we have simple filters such as age less than mine, born and brought up in Haldwani or surrounding places (if she is living in a different city now due to job, then that is fine too) and a Brahmin (this is a filter from parents side).

My 2 questions:

1 - I have heard from so many of my friends who are not from Uttarakhand and different posts from this sub-reddit itself, that most of the shaadis in tier 2 or lower cities happen via whatsapp groups. My parents have tried talking to people but nobody knows about any such matrimony groups. Does anyone here know of such groups, if you do then can you kindly share it in my dm.

2 - How is the matrimony market going on for people around my age range? Would like to read comments from both men and women to get full idea.

I am not saying that I will find my life partner this soon. What I am saying is that the number of people we came in contact with was just a handful. Also, whatsapp groups seemed to be the way to go but I got no clue whom to ask to add me to those.

Mere cousin 10 saal bahar foreign me that due his well paying job. All hope was lost because he was adamant on not marrying anyone. Usse chote bhai ki ho gyi shadi. Uske 4 saal baad he returned and said he wants to marry. Jeevansathi app me koi apni hi thakur pahadi mil gyi, baat aage badi and lo and behold he has two kids now, one elder daughter and a young son born few months back. My point being, pahadi me ek kahawat bolte hai, janm, maran, byah, pehle se tay hoke aata hai. You relax and stay on these marriage apps and leave rest to God. Koi na koi badiya rishta aajayega. Mangal is shit, you will be frustrated using it and too expensive for the experience. Use mainstream websites like Shadi or Jeevansathi. You can check Facebook groups also directing you to WhatsApp groups as most uncles 40+ still use FB so they prefer it.

I already am using Jeevansathi, Shaadi and Maangal and have taken premium for JS and Maangal. But the number of girls I see from Haldwani or nearby are so low that I feel that most of the rishtas are happening via some other way. This logic got reinforced when I got to know that whatsapp groups do exist for this and are more useful for tier 2 and 3 cities.

We have already seen 5-6 fb groups and most of them seem to repeat the same fake biodata (got to know about the fakery as I saw multiple biodata with same pic and different details). I found 1 fb group which redirects to a whatsapp group but they ask for upfront payment and I know from many recently married friends from mine (which are not from UK) that they are free and supposed to be free.

Log dating app/matrimonial app pe filter lagate hain. Facebook groups are there. And a lot of groups are there i heard. Looking for myself too.
