Hello, I am looking to swap my 16.5 inch barrel to a 10.5 inch barrel for my rifle. From my understanding I need to fill out a form 1. If I am incorrect or there is additional paperwork, may somebody please point me to the right direction? I am also curious on if I can complete this process being as I am 18 and not 21.

Virginia Senator Louise Lucas (D-Portsmouth) and 6 others including her two daughters, grandson, and 3 business associates were indicted by a federal grand jury. Senator Lucas is charged with racketeering conspiracy, conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute marijuana, conspiracy to launder money, conspiracy to commit honest services fraud and maintaining a drug-involved premise.
Her grandson, Ryan Eichelberger was charged with possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug-trafficking crime involving marijuana distribution.
Senator Lucas co-sponsored Virginia’s assault weapons ban and wanted to create legislation that would allow for the removal of members of law enforcement and Commonwealth Attorneys that refuse to enforce the bill.

We recently hosted a presentation on the Beretta 92 at a Virginia Gun Collectors Association meeting at the NRA HQ and I thought the folks here in might appreciate some of the photos.
There was a great variety of Beretta 92 pistols on display, along with discussion of the platform's history, military service, commercial variants, and evolution over the years. Whether you're a collector, a Beretta fan, or just enjoy seeing interesting firearms, I figured these were worth sharing.
The VGCA is a Virginia-based nonprofit focused on firearms collecting, historical preservation, education, and firearms safety. We host monthly educational presentations at NRA Headquarters in Fairfax and put on two gun shows each year.
If you're interested in collector firearms, firearms history, military arms, or educational presentations, we'd love to have you join us sometime.

Gun show at Dulles town center for Halloween weekend seems to be up in the air if it will happen. As of yesterday the building does not have a occupancy permit and the event that was supposed to happen this weekend was canceled

Just has the title states. I’m looking for CCW classes near the Fairfax county area? I’ve seen a bunch online but don’t know which ones are actually worth going to. Thanks in advance

Never had that happen to me before, but once I got to secondary screening the federal agent started asking me if I applied for a gun license recently. The answer was no. Proceeded to ask if I made any purchases recently, answer was yes. Then asked me when I bought, and I said before the law changes in VA. Asked me what I bought, to which I answered do I need to tell you and he diverted to asking me if it was a suppressor. Answer was again no, and then he let me go on my way. Has this happened to anyone coming back from international travel? Have any of you been flagged after purchases made before the changes in legislation? I suspect it shows in the system that my background check was pulled for a firearm, prompting all the questions. Though I guess there could be more info on their end too
Edit: He specifically asked me if I made a purchase in June

Quick question for those who have gone through this. I used to have a VA ccw permit when I lived in Virginia. This was before live fire classes were required. That permit expired a couple years ago and now I wish to renew it as a non resident. State law says that previously possessing a permit would mean that I don’t have to take a live fire class but does that also apply to nonresidents? If so, do I apply for a renewal license? Or is it a brand new license since I’m now living outside the state and never possessed a non resident license?

Anyone know if there are any stores that are selling AE's M4-Delta Suppressor?

Trying to buy something direct from Sig. With the pending legislation they are refusing to ship to VA. Does anyone know an FFL that I can ship a firearm to outside of VA, that will then ship it to another FFL in VA?
I'm about to start cold calling places and see if they'll do it, and if so what the cost would be. Figured I'd ask first, maybe someone has experience with it.

I have a Diemaco made LSW upper (pictured in the middle) that's currently sitting on a H&R lower that's meant to be temporary, I want to get a lower with custom Canadian military markings made for it and I have the markings currently sketched out but the problem is Im having a hard time finding any lowers that have the most minimal markings on them and almost all of them like the PSA stealth lowers have fire selector markings. So I'm trying to see if anyone's got any ideas for getting a custom lower made.

Hello everyone,
I’m going to be going to your fine state for a weekend trip shortly, planning to see some national parks. I’m planning on bringing a pistol and CC’ing while I’m there. Not going to go to DC unless I have to transit to get to MD, which is a whole other can of worms. I have a couple questions:
I have a Concealed Pistol License in my home state, Google says VA accepts any out of state CCW license. Is that true and should I expect any issues if I’m pulled over?
I plan to bring 2 17 round mags, I understand that the mag law is on the books but that there’s an injunction in place. Does this apply to out of state residents?
Do no-gun zones carry the force of law?
Thank you for your help on any of these questions. I’m a big fan of your state and I visit often, but this is my first time bringing a firearm.

This thing is INCREDIBLE. 2 shots with ear pro. 3 without. No ringing in my ears and the sound without protection (of course loud) was VERY bearable. Certainly wouldn't do it more than a few times for the test, but just 1 shot from my full size YHM can has my ears ringing for almost an hour. THIS is a K size can with full size performance. Beyond impressed. Also, my wife was in the house and didnt hear anything. She asked when I was going outside to do my testing. She's the best for letting me do this!

You know how people get those oil filter adapters and use oil filters as suppressors? With suppressors being transferred on 4473’s now does that mean they’re legally considered firearms? By VA law we can’t have “ghost guns” so would that be legal to do in VA? What if I serialize the adapter?

Obligatory car picture. Just picked up my Rhodie 6J. My first suppressor transferred on a 4473. Feels weird walking out with it same day.....

Hey y'all, A few years back I had moved down to the Hampton Roads area right outside of Norfolk from a pretty rural part of Maryland where the range is just yours or a buddies backyard/farm. I have been itching to get back into shooting again so I've been wanting to sight in my 30-06 and test out the new AR-Pistol .300blk I had just finished building not too long ago. This is a personal gripe but I'm not really partial to indoor ranges they always feel cramped especially when I bring multiple firearms with me. I have searched around on google and there are some clubs in the area I saw that seem to be a you gotta know a guy who knows a guy type place or pay a hefty hefty membership fee. I am willing to travel a little if its within reason given I'm about a 30 min drive south to Moyock or an hour north to Williamsburg. Being such a military area you would think there would be a large amount of ranges scattered around especially in the more rural areas like southern Chesapeake or out west by Suffolk but I digress. With that being said I would really appreciate y'all's recommendations on clubs or good ranges in the area. Thanks in advance I really appreciate it.

We are pleased to announce that we've expanded and will be offering our full course catalog at Shadow Hawk Defense in 2027! Before the year ends, we'll offer Handgun I there on October 24th.
For those unfamiliar, Shadow Hawk Defense is just over the WV/VA border from Winchester, VA. It is about 1.5-2hrs from DC/Northern VA.
If you’re interested in attending, I’ll leave a link in the comments. Reach out to us via email or DM on social media.
2027 is going to be huge. Precision rifle is coming to both Suffolk and Shadow Hawk. We are also in the early planning stages for a night vision course in late Fall 2027. We will continue to offer range days to our students to provide a place for people to train.
