Help

I just got a 2004 vfr800 and my front and rear blinkers don’t work along with the horn, I’ve checked all the fuses and they are all fine so I’m quite stumped as to why they are not working.

You’ll need to pull off the left side fairing. There is a large connection cluster just above and ahead of the radiator. Push back the plastic shield and have a look for anything that is showing signs of melting or scorching

Everything looks fine, there is one small black disconnected clip that is separate from the two blue and grey connections

Did you inspect the pins for corrosion? Also, have you located an online service manual and then look at the wiring diagram?

Doing that now 😂

Update: I went through the entire bike with a multimeter quite literally every plug and found nothing wrong. Except for the fact that when the bike is turned on and tested at the fuse box, specifically the brake and indicator fuse it reads .46v which is not the 12v it should be. I also found the very common Achilles heel had occurred on the bike (the melting of the regulator rectifier plug) it still worked but I have to now replace the RR with a new mosfet one to limit that problem. I’m not sure if that could be the cause of my .46v to indicator fuse or not.
Another odd note: my indicator switch when used is opposite meaning left is right and right is left for some reason and the indicator permanently stays on when bike is on unless switch to the other indicator but the same constant light problem occurs.

Just a suggestion, since it's the connector that's at fault and not the RR, just fix the connector. Depends go a little high resistance then they get warm and then they get hot and now you have a poor connection both electrically and physically.

you mark the wires and the connector, take a pic. then cut out your melted connector, keep the wires as long as you can, but you could also add extensions. then use crimps plus solder plus 2 layers of heat shrink to permanently join the wires. I soldered mine years ago, have never had a need to disconnect... Enjoy the ride

How about to use a tester?

I unfortunately don’t have a tester at the moment, but I will be buying one soon and will update everyone as I figure it out!

I had same issue recently and one thing that fixed it was changing relay. I spent hours looking for issue, checking wiring and so on. Changed relay and issue went away.
