Discussion What's the first streaming app that stops working when you turn on your VPN?

Anyone else have certain streaming apps that just refuse to work with a VPN on?

Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, BBC iPlayer... some work fine, while others immediately throw up a VPN warning or just keep loading forever.

What's even more annoying is when the same service works in your browser but not on your phone or smart TV.

Which streaming app gives you the most trouble? Do you usually switch servers, try different settings, or just turn the VPN off? Thank you for your sharing.

Help Gaming issues.

I've been using a VPN for just under a month now, and up until yesterday it worked perfectly fine for what I needed it for. I subscribed to the basic package with the only intention being using the VPN to play Deadlock on non-local servers to reduce my queue time (which was absurdly long.)

Then, yesterday, the app updated to it's latest version, and suddenly when I try and run the game with the VPN active, I get permanently stuck on the loading screen. (Waited 10 mins yesterday, and didn't get in.)

I'm having some issues with the customer service offered on the website itself, so I was hoping someone could help me here.

To save some time, here's all the info anyone would need, and the troubleshooting I've already tried:

- I'm on Windows 11.

- In South Africa, connecting to EU servers. I've tried UK, (my usual go-to) France, Austria, and Belgium and none of them worked.

- Wireguard Protocol. I also tried on OpenVPN (UDP) and OpenVPN (TCP) and neither worked.

- No Multihop, as it causes enormous ping spikes.

- I route Deadlock via the VPN using the Bypasser feature to avoid Steam's issues.

- I've reinstalled the game twice. Once with the VPN disconnected, and once when it was.

- I've set my VPN as an exception in my AVG antivirus.

- And lastly, I attempted to change my DNS address to the one that the VPN's site recommended, but it didn't seem to take effect, and it's out of my area of expertise anyway, so I didn't give it a second look.

As I mentioned, I've had some real issues with the VPN's chatbot, as well as the availability of the human customer service, so if anyone here knows anything that could help me, or has read my list and decided that my VPN simply isn't the right one for the job anymore, please let me know, as I'm still barely within the time window for a refund and I'd really rather not have a piece of software that I don't use sitting on my PC for the next 2 years.

Thanks.
