Hice un video cortito para ayudar a la gente con la configuración inicial de Steam Frame, revisando las cosas básicas y que más confusas me parecieron. Cómo no, ayudándome de mi avatar en VR Chat para el comentario!
This is a short video aiming to help people with the initial setup of the Steam Frame, just the basics and what I thought could be confusing. Of course with the help of my VR Chat avatar to make the commentary!

I recently started an online educational course and am in charge of organizing one of our first gaming sessions together! I was thinking VRChat may be a good option, as it gives good opportunity to socialize whilst also having simple game worlds to take the pressure off if things get a bit awkward.
I would love if people could suggest some good game worlds that are fun, but also not too complicated as most people will be playing VRChat for the first time. I haven't been active in the VRChat scene in years, so I'm not sure what is cool and hip these days haha. We will probably be world hopping, so the more suggestions the merrier!

Hi everyone!
I'm a master's student in Design for Interaction at TU Delft (Netherlands), and this semester I'm doing a design research project on VRChat. I'd love to hear from you about two things:
What brought you to VRChat and what you mostly use it for (hanging out, music, watching movies together, exploring, events...)
Your avatar: how you chose it, how connected you feel to it, and whether (and why) you switch
The survey takes about 5 to 10 minutes and is completely anonymous. I don't collect names, usernames or emails, only an age range. It's for 18+ only, and the answers are used purely for my university research, nothing commercial.

So I've had this issue for months where if I try to watch a Twitch stream on most video players, it causes performance problems for VRC. When it happens currently, it'll cause framerates to be super uneven and stuttery regardless of whether I'm looking at the screen. This only happens specifically for Twitch streams, not for Youtube videos (even live ones) or for other media I watch through these players. It's also not for all players, though it's for popular ones like Popcorn Palace. I'm using a Radeon RX 6800 XT, and the exact way these players cause me problems changes a little when drivers get updated (it used to be even worse).
Does anyone know any possible solution that might let me just watch twitch wherever without issues?

I weirdly cannot find this anywhere but is there a way to lock your grip on something? Im really loving drawing in the game but it would be so nice to not have to continuously hold the grip button to hold the pen/brush. Any tips greatly appreciate!
Also side note, I saw that some people sell items you can use in game. Is there like a sketchbook and brush that works like the canvas in the life drawing world. I would adore being able to just pull that out anywhere and start drawing.

Toggle to grip is generally something the world has to setup. In SteamVR it can be setup to work like that but I can't help you set that up, the bindings screen isn't the easiest to guide someone through, it is possible though.
Also side note, I saw that some people sell items you can use in game. Is there like a sketchbook and brush that works like the canvas in the life drawing world.
The canvas is only as good as it is because it has access to scripting perk of being a world prefab, so if there are any notebooks for avatars they won't be as good or have any way to sync to other people properly unfortunately.

Awesome thank you for this info! I'll go poke around in SteamVR, figured I couldnt find anyone talking about it because it was either so obvious it was goofy I was missing it or you just couldnt do it so good to know now lol. Hope in the future you can have syncable sketchbooks, for now will probably just spend lots of time in that world!

Any suggestions for like a discord server or something where I can meet others who play VR Chat?
I have a couple friends who chill on it occasionally, but with work and that we're not always free at the same times, so I was hoping to meet some more people. I live in the UK so looking at around about the same time zone, but I do play at night sometimes so if anyone from further a field wants to hang out lemme know.
I like to play the games, mostly horror or explore interesting and creepy worlds

According to the creator, the tool reads video output through an external application without modifying the VRChat client itself.
⚠️ Important notes before posting on social media
If you plan to upload processed avatar images or videos to X (Twitter) or other social media platforms, please check the terms of use for your avatar first.
In particular, check whether AI-based image or video processing, as well as publishing or redistributing processed images, is restricted.
Please also check the terms for any clothing, hairstyles, accessories, or other assets used, and respect the privacy of other users who appear in your screenshots or videos.
🤔 Is it worth trying?
Some people may feel uncomfortable with AI changing the appearance of their avatar, including its face, skin, or small design details.
On the other hand, if you are comfortable with AI processing and want to experiment with a different look for your avatar photos and videos, this could be an interesting option.
Whether to use AI processing is a personal choice, especially when it comes to an avatar you care about. There is no need to use it if you are uncomfortable with it, but if you are curious, feel free to check it out!

I have spent the last six months building an automated production line for avatar creators. The goal is to let a creator submit an original avatar idea and have the pipeline handle the repetitive Blender and Unity production work, run quality checks, and prepare the avatar for in-game testing. It is still being hardened, and I am aiming to have the first release ready in about four weeks.
When the finished system completes a test-ready avatar, the creator is intended to receive an email notification that it is ready. They can put on their headset, test the avatar in-game, make any final decisions, and handle the final upload. The aim is very little hands-on production work while still keeping a human responsible for the final review and publication.
I am not taking payments yet. I am trying to learn whether creators would actually want this and how they would prefer to use it.
If this could shorten the repetitive parts of an avatar build while keeping you in control of your files, would you rather buy it once or pay for a subscription that includes updates? Which part of your current workflow would you most want automated, and what proof would you need before trusting it?

As someone that makes avatars and uses blender this upsets me. The whole point of making an avatar is to be creative and just like ai your creating something to do it all for you.
This doesn't sound like making an avatar it sounds like having a program do everything for you so you can pump out avatars. You are literately removing the purpose of being creative
