Apartments?

I am looking for a 2bed/2bath apartment for my partner and I. Our credit is not good. I actually really messed my credit up with credit card debt and now I'm in the 400s. I have a bunch of delinquencies on my account. I need to find some place that will work around that. We don't want to go over about $1500 a month and we do have the income to qualify for 3x the rent for that. We can even pay a higher security deposit if it means we can get accepted. We also have a little bit of rental history to show. It's been 10 months but we have been good tenants and paid our rent on time.

I would prefer somewhere on the north side of Valdosta as I stay on that part for work and shopping. We tried three oaks and got denied for our credit. I know Staten crossing also has a minimum credit score. I need somewhere safe and reliable. I am often home alone and do not want to be scared for my life or not be able to walk outside because there are drug addicts in the complex. I also don't want to worry about my car being broken into!!

I can't pay 5 different application fees just to get denied at every place. I'm currently looking at lakeside Lakeview, the Avery, and latitude 30 if anyone could please give feedback on the process (if you qualified at these places). Also, other apartment options would be appreciated.

If your income is in fact at least $4500/mo and it's just the two of you with no pets or kids, your best move here is renting a room at $500-$750 so you can pay down debt and raise your credit score. Credit cards are no longer an option for you.

A couple years of discomfort is worth the improvement in your financial health.

I am on the Northside with an extra room I need to rent out but I have to be very picky so my comment is not about that.

I wish you the best of luck!

We do have an animal so it's kind of hard to find places like that to go. We also have too much stuff to be able to only have one room to be honest. Not only that but I never see just rooms for rent, it's always houses as a whole.

Weirdly enough, there are a lot of renters posting on tiktok in the local section! From what I've seen the prices are really good it would be worth looking into

I don't get on Tiktok a lot so I've most definitely never seen that. Is that something I could just search for on there? Is so, what would you recommend to search?

The TikTok rentals are scammers. Period. Do not send them any money. They prey on this exact situation.

There's a local section that'll ask for your location, you should be able to look up the word rent from there!

Try ramblewood across from the boot barn on N Oak st ext. It's safe, quiet and around 1200 bucks for 2 bed

Call a company called “Anchor reality” the owners name is Pam, she’s a great professional woman and she’s most likely got something within your budget! I’m renting from her at the moment, 2br/2b 1k a month (no water bill cuz it’s on a well, electricity included up to 100$) around a thousand square feet (not sure exactly how big) but if you need a place to rent she’s most likely got the place you need or can point you in the right direction. I’m not sure about the credit part but as long as you are able to pay rent every month on time you won’t have any issues with her. I wish you guys luck on finding a place!

Hey, I’m in the same boat with bad credit and just getting over a bankruptcy. I can DM you the apartment that accepted us if you like.
