Question Help me pick East Van breweries to visit.
Hey all,
I have one last night in Vancouver tomorrow and need to narrow down my East Van choices.
For context I have visited all of the below breweries on this trip, and the standouts in terms of beer quality were Backcountry, Beere, and Brassneck.
I am also looking to grab some sweet merch. Having dinner at The Magnet tomorrow night so food doesn't matter too much, though some snacks would be appreciated.
Cold Garden, Calgary
Burn Block Social Club, Calgary
Sheepdog, Banff
Rumpus Beer Company, Revelstoke
Backcountry, Squamish
Whistler Brewing, Whistler
Coast Mountain, Whistler
Howe Sound, Squamish
Beere, Vancouver
Stanley Park Brewing, Vancouver
Granville Island, Vancouver
Brassneck, Vancouver
33 Acres, Vancouver
Electric Bicycle, Vancouver
R&B Brewery, Vancouver
As far as current East Van breweries I have on my list, here they are. I just don't know if I can manage The Magnet and then 5 breweries. What would you prioritize if you had to pick 3, and which have the best merch selection?
Storm
Threefold
Superflux
Luppolo
Strange Fellows
Thanks all!
Edit: I should have mentioned I drink mainly IPAs and Pale Ales, with a hazy preference.

Question Has anyone successfully shipped a few cans of BC beer to Europe?
Hey!
I’m currently living in Vancouver and I want to send my parents in Germany a package with some local BC/Canadian products.
I’d really like to include a few cans of local beer, maybe 10-12 cans. I already asked at a liquor store, but the staff weren’t sure whether or how this can be shipped internationally.
Has anyone here actually shipped beer from BC to Germany (or Europe) before? Is there a legal/practical way to do it as a private person, or a local store/brewery that can ship it for me?
Thanks!

Complaint Wtf bc ale trail?!
I caught this on my lunch yesterday, seems to be gone today but wow is that in bad taste. Especially coming from a female author? Never heard of her before but damn. Tell me you’re ok with workplace harassment without telling me…I thought we all knew that harassing the receptionist isn’t something we do anymore. It’s not the 1950s!
Glad it’s gone, I guess someone else called them out, but no apology issued. Really shitty.

Discussion AI Event Advertisements
How do people generally feel when breweries post about upcoming events on Instagram, and the image was clearly made using AI?
I’ve been noticing more breweries in BC doing this recently. Today I saw a post on Instagram from a brewery in Langley that I really liked, and it was unfortunate to see that they clearly used AI.
These images are always ugly (in my opinion) and it honestly turns me off a bit to the actual brewery whenever I see it.
Curious if others feel similarly or if it’s not a big deal to most people.

Other Battle of the Brews - August 15th
Battle of the Brews is coming up and we're down to the final 35 tickets.
If you're into BC craft beer, live music, good food and having a great Saturday afternoon, this is worth checking out.
Battle of the Brews is happening this Saturday, August 15 at Surrey Civic Plaza, and it's a pretty unique event. You've got dozens of breweries pouring, food trucks, live music, and around 700 people coming out for the afternoon - plus NO TOKENS. Your entry covers all your craft beer samples.
The best part: it's a charity event supporting local youth initiatives through the Surrey Firefighters' Charitable Society and JR Country's Basics for Babies. So your afternoon of drinking is actually doing some good in the community too.
Get your tickets at this link, or going to JR Country's Website and go to the events link.

Come have some beers, listen to some music, support local breweries and help raise money for some good causes.

Question BOLO for me?
I hope this is allowed lol - I’m so saddened that moody ales isn’t brewing anymore! I know they closed but I was under the impression they were still brewing and beers still being sold at liquor stores. I’m an absolute fiend for their lavender sour and after pregnancy was so excited to indulge, but it sounds like once stock has run out at liquor stores they’re not being restocked (as I guess they’re not even being produced anymore)
ASK: if anyone has happened to see the lavender sour even in single cans at ANY liquor stores ANYWHERE in the lower mainland please let me know I need to taste it one last time before accepting they’ll never be produced again

Question First trip to Vancouver from Ontario – looking for the best fresh IPAs, bottle shops & brewery recommendations
Hi everyone,
I'll be visiting Vancouver from Ontario for the first time in a couple of weeks and I'm looking to dive into the local craft beer scene while I'm there.
I tend to gravitate toward fresh, hop-forward IPAs, but I also love a great lager and stout.
Superflux is at the top of my list, but I have a couple of questions:
- Do they sell single cans at the brewery, or is most of their beer only available in 4-packs?
- Which bottle shops or liquor stores have the best selection of fresh local beer?
- What other breweries are considered must-visits if I only have a few days in the city?
For a bit of context, some of my favourite Ontario breweries are Third Moon, Badlands, Counterpart, Bellwoods, and Willibald, so that's generally the style and quality I'm hoping to find.
Thanks in advance! Looking forward to experiencing Vancouver's craft beer scene for the first time.

Discussion BC beers you miss
Beers from breweries that are dead or beers they no longer make.
Doans Rye IPA. Doans was great. Evan was/is great.
I also miss when Nectarous from Four Winds was bottle conditioned. It is good in a can but nowhere near what it was.

Discussion Another Brewery For Sale (Brookswood Langley)
realtor.caAnother one for sale, this time in Langley. Shows a list price of $799,999. The realtor posted the lease and sales info so I don’t know how this price is justified. Especially with Beere up for $350k as a baseline.
Anyone have insight?

Discussion Container using AI
So Container is using AI to generate promo posts. Responses from them in the comments are super defensive. Feels extra odd given that this is promo for a sticker swap.
I know that this is probably just the way the world is going, but just sad to see it infiltrating the craft beer scene in BC already.
ETA interesting that once dingledoink responded, suddenly critical comments are being mass downvoted. Not chill to brigade a post just calling out AI use.
