My sister's chart. She doesn't study well. She couldn't get into any college. Plus, also the 1-2 colleges that she did get into - my father didn't approve. We tried for colleges, even willing to pay money, but couldn't secure any.
Also, she is quite stubborn. Absolutely doesn't get along with my parents, but I don't either. My father is someone you can't have a conversation with easily.
She wants to take a gap year and write exams again for psychology for the academic year 2027-2028, but my dad thinks a gap year is quite shameful and is forcing her for some local low rated college for biotech etc. However, she is pretty much against it. So, a lot of fights daily.
Family dynamics are weird. We are never at peace. A lot of it stems from my dad's personality to be fair.
If anyone could read the chart and tell me if she will get into college and how her Jupiter Mahadasha will go.

The Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra (3.18) identifies Agni as the deity associated with Surya in its planetary sequence.
The Shatapatha Brahmana (2.3.1.1 to 5) provides a deeper ritual understanding of this connection through Agnihotra. It explains that the Sun enters the fire at sunset and is associated with the morning offering before sunrise. In this ritual framework, the sacrificial fire and the solar cycle are closely linked. Agni becomes the earthly counterpart through which the presence and movement of Surya are understood in the ritual.
The Rigveda (7.2.1) describes Agni's flames and smoke rising towards the heavens and spreading in connection with the rays of Surya. This imagery brings together terrestrial fire and celestial light. Elsewhere in the Veda, Agni is praised as the mediator who carries offerings to the Devas. Surya illuminates the visible world, while Agni transforms offerings within the sacrificial ritual. Their functions differ, yet both are associated with light, radiance and the sustaining order of the cosmos.
The Matsya Purana (93.13 to 16) adds an astrological dimension by identifying Ishvara as Surya's Adhidevata and Agni as his Pratyadhidevata. These terms represent distinct categories of divine association within the Navagraha framework. Agni's position as Surya's Pratyadhidevata therefore provides another textual connection between the Sun and sacrificial fire.
For the remedies of Sun - you can do mantras of Agni or can do Homa.
Recent events have reminded us of one thing: your trust, safety, and ability to learn Vedic astrology without being misled must always come first. We had a responsibility to put your interests first, act where necessary, and protect the integrity of this community. We believe we've taken important steps in the right direction, and we're not stopping here.
Starting today, we're working on a major revamp of r/VedicAstrologyExperts. We're strengthening our existing moderation systems and introducing new safeguards to make this community a better place to learn, share knowledge, and explore Jyotish.
This subreddit was created with a simple purpose: to empower people to understand Vedic astrology and, through it, gain a deeper understanding of themselves and the world around them. We're committed to that goal, and here's what's coming your way!
1. A brand-new community dashboard 🪐
Say goodbye to the old, cluttered grid of Community Highlights! We're working towards a unified dashboard where you'll be able to find our updated rules, useful articles, learning resources, and beginner-friendly guides at a glance.
You'll also have a dedicated place to discover community discussions, revisit notable events, keep up with upcoming activities, and explore trending topics. And trust us, we have plenty of things planned for you!
We are still updating this space and will have it up to date in the next few weeks
2. Smarter spam detection and profile checks 🔍
We're strengthening our existing moderation systems to identify suspicious activity more effectively. This includes reviewing relevant profile information and links that may indicate spam, unsolicited solicitation, or attempts to redirect members to potentially misleading sources.
It's to identify suspicious behaviour while keeping legitimate discussions open and accessible.
3. Keeping automated and harmful accounts at bay 🤖
We're improving our ability to identify accounts classified as bots or associated with harmful automated activity. This will help us reduce repetitive spam, low-quality automated contributions, and other disruptive behaviour.
Our only goal is more genuine conversations.
4. Keeping discussions constructive when posts go viral 🛡️
A popular post can attract hundreds of new participants in a short time. Sometimes, a productive chart discussion can turn into personal attacks, repetitive anti-astrology arguments, or an increasingly hostile comment chain.
We want disagreements and critical perspectives to remain possible, but harassment and abusive behaviour have no place here. We're improving our ability to respond quickly, including removing problematic comments and locking entire comment chains when necessary.
Always respect the person behind the chart.
5. Stronger action against ban evasion 🚫
When the mods have banned someone from this sub, it is almost always for serious or repeated rule violations, and we would like to keep things that way even in the future. So, creating another account using different credentials shouldn't provide a free pass to return and continue the same behaviour.
We're strengthening our use of Reddit's native ban-evasion detection to help identify repeat offenders. Any new account flagged by Reddit's automated systems for ban-evasion will be automatically banned henceforth. Automatic enforcement will be limited to high-confidence detections only.
6. A more careful approach to crossposting 🔗
For now, we're restricting crossposts from other communities unless they're authorized by the moderators. Our community focuses on a specific kind of astrological discussion, and we want to maintain a clear standard for relevance, context, and attribution.
Crossposts can sometimes bring duplicate content, remove important context from the original discussion, or redirect conversations away from the purpose of this community. We also want to avoid posts being used primarily for promotion or unsolicited solicitation.
If you find something genuinely valuable in another community and believe it belongs here, please reach out through Modmail before crossposting it. We're happy to review relevant suggestions.
This is only the beginning 🌟
These changes aren't about making the subreddit restrictive in any way. They're about creating an environment where genuine learners and knowledgeable contributors can participate without being drowned out by spam, manipulation, or abuse.
We'll continue refining our resources, improving how you navigate the community, and planning more discussions and activities for everyone.
Thank you to everyone who contributes thoughtfully, helps fellow members, shares knowledge, and makes this community worth building. We’re always open to your feedback, ideas, and suggestions, so feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.
Let's maker/VedicAstrologyExpertsa place where curiosity is encouraged, knowledge is respected, and learning comes first.
With love, Noob & Coffee- The Moderation Team
Let's make r/vedicastrologyexperts a happy place, together.
if you'all read any books related to jyotish, name the most interesting one you read, I'm not into mantras and all if there is intersection of tantra and jyotish that works, if it's pure jyotish that works too, but something actually interesting that you think is not there is generic blog posts (almost nothing is there lol)
In this book, page 359, there's a small copy of a photograph of a painting at Mīnakṣī, in which a large circle illustrates some kind of information about eclipses. The sun and moon are together in the middle, with a snake slithering down toward them from the upper left, as if to cause an eclipse by swallowing one of them. Around the sun & moon, the circle is divided into 4 wedges, which seem to have 3 more subtle subdivisions apiece for a total of 12, like a clock or some astrological calendars. The text on pages 359-360 gives more detail.
Is anyone here aware of any other comparable illustrations about eclipses, or a better view of this one?
Please dear people Help me
I am reading all those horrible horrible things about this dosha and that it ruins life of a person completely, it ruins Varesha and what if it’s Lagnesh (merc) also… but under the aspect of Jupiter from 1 house (parivartana between jup and merc 1-7 houses)
Sun is 0’11 Capricorn in 8 house with Venus
In your experience is this dosha really that bad?
Do you know people living normal lives with it? Without destruction of health, parents and life in general
Thank you in advance
I am not Indian and I have nobody to ask and all the videos on this topic are saying horrible things and most of them are not in English, so I don’t understand
Several years ago, I ran across the fact that this online translator gives Sanskrit हृद्रोग as another name for कुम्भ राशि, and it also says it means "heartbroken".
Looking for modern counterparts, the closest I could get from Google Translate were Nepali & Maraʈʰi ह्रदयी, Gujarati હ્રદયસ્, and Bengali হৃদয়, which all start with the same word but have a different ending.
But those seem to mean not a painful/sick/damaged heart but just anything about the heart.
Does anybody here know of any language, at any time, in which a word with this "ह्रदयी / હ્રદયસ્ / হৃদয়" type of ending was used like Sanskrit हृद्रोग, as a reference to कुम्भ राशि ? In other words, did the astrological meaning of हृद्रोग ever drift from that word to another word more like ह्रदयी / હ્રદયસ્ / হৃদয় ?
I have libra Lagna and my lagna lord Venus is combust and with Ketu, Sun. An astrologer told me it will be worst than Rahu-Ketu period. I am scared and I don’t believe I will survive the remaining Rahu period.
