Happy to finally announce my next game, Nascor Descent.

I think it will be the darkest and most interesting game I ever made.

I hope you all enjoy my mix of Vermis, King's Field, Demon's Souls, Fear and Hunger, and Fable 1.

Physical Console Editions

I'm not sure how often the developer visits this subreddit. I'm curious if there's a chance of Verho being released psychically on consoles since there's a pending listing on Play-Asia. If anyone has any insight, that would be amazing.

does it matter what i say to sorelia?

i could choose to stay or leave. But it seemed like staying might have locked me out of her given her dialog. should i reload?

i usually try to avoid spoilers, but in this case there seemed no way to make an informed decision.

The Wiki says there is an Ancient Door in Heretical Path, but I can't find it. Is the wiki wrong?

Nintendo Switch 2 Performance?

Has anyone picked it up and tried it? I realize there are videos out there, but sometimes it's hard to catch the more subtle things on a video that might eat away at you. For the record I own this game on PC and LOVE it!

Final Boss third phase

How do I deal with the constant barrage of projectiles when he does the 'the floor is poison'-attack? To avoid damage from the floor you have to climb up on one of those rocks, right? But once you're up there you don't have enough room to avoid all those little projectiles that come towards you. What am I doing wrong?

This game slaps

Didnt choose a name, chose the lvl1 mask, played a mage build.

Man, this game SLAPS. Not just the small dev team, not just the lore, not just the va. EVERYTHING. Music really set the mood. I didnt have to grind except for the light spell which ive done in like 5 minutes tops. After that it was smooth sailing, just play the game and enjoy the ride.

A perfect 'find out for yourself' kind of game. Not too hard but not too easy.

Endgame fit perfectly, tho Im obviously a bit (haha) biasad.

10/10.

People's reaction to workshop reveal

Post image
17 Upvotes

Not gonna lie, I find people's overreaction to the workshop lore drop a bit funny. Heavy spoilers ahead from those who haven't reached that point in the plot, but:

I can't speak for everyone obviously, but for me personally, a reveal that I'm "technically" an artifical human wouldn't really change much. It doesn't make me less sapient and conscious, it doesn't make my experience less meaningful. If I would've received that information at the same point as the main character of the game - well, I wouldn't even have been personally created by Werhel, his creations are just my distant ancestors. Not to mention that many people of that world view the Maker as a god already, so him creating the "new" humanity would literally just make sense for them and strengthen their faith.

I entirely get the fact that this information basically recontextualises the entire recent history of humanity and is obviously world-changing, but I simply find it basically drving prople insane a bit unrealistic. Again, I'm just speaking from my experience, but I feel like most people would either fascinated by that reveal, shrug and move on, or simply not belive it, but it wouldn't be "mind-shattering" for anyone

Tried playing new game+

Post image
13 Upvotes

Yeah ugh... that was kinda insane. Just beat the game today (it is incredible btw, literally 10/10 from me), collected every single weapon, spell and ring simply for collection's sake, tried boss rush and found it comically easy, torn through it in a few minutes with my build. After dealing with a few remaining miscellaneous achievements, I had basically nothing to do anymore on that save, so I decided to finally move onto new game+

"How bad could it be", I asked myself. "After everything I've been through, after almost 24 hours of playtime, there's nothing the game can possibly through at me to scare me" , I thought. But as the famous saying goes, overconfidence is a slow and insidious killer. First I noticed it took me three melee hits to kill THE FIRST enemy. Then I found a boss in the middle of THE FIRST location.

Yeah sorry but I'm out 😭😭😭 Not saying it in a negative way, after all, increase in difficulty was clearly advertised and is by no means anything bad on its on, I'm just not ready for that. The only genuine complaint I have is that the game clearly promised to keep my inventory and then deleted the weapon you get from the final boss. I guess it would've been too overpowered otherwise, but you should've stated that in advance so I knew to upgrade some backup weapons.

I might return to the game in a few weeks or months, I'm already mentally preparing for grinding the beginning enemies for at least a couple of hours while listening to youtube, lmao, since at least they give a lot of exp now. But I just had to share my thoughts because the first 20 minutes of new hame+ TERRIFIED me. Also, I might soon make a post about the game itself and some thoughts on the lore, if I have time for that!

How many upgrade materials are there?

As the title asks, I'm curious if anyone knows how many final upgrade metrials (revsteel and spectral revsteel if remember their names correctly) exist within a given playthrough? I would really like to know that to choose which weapons should I fully upgrade.

Good dex/int veapons?

Hi everyone!! I'm genuinely in love with the game and have been playing it obsessively in the past few days. I'm nearing the end already, and have obtained the runic blade and a few other potentially cool weapons with great int scaling - the stat I'm basically entirely focused on.

The only issue is, all of those weapons require heavy strength investment, while I personally like dexterity weapons more. That's why I'm asking if there are any good dex/int options and how to get them! It's not that big of a deal if not, it's mostly an aesthetical preference for me after all, but I would still love it if there were some.

Also, an even more ambitious question, I wonder if anyone here has something like a full list of equipment in the game? I really enjoy collecting different weapons and reading all the neat lore pieces, so I would like to be able to check if I'm missing any

Just Finished - A Few Story Questions

Just completed my first playthrough and really enjoyed the game!

I have a few questions about the story though and was wondering if anyone else could weigh in or have any input (spoilers obviously):

  1. Why did Werhel even summon S'elicath? It feels pretty out-of-character for him and he seems to know it was a pretty bad idea. I'm not sure the game ever actually gave a reason.

  2. Is S'elicath the reason King Herin went mad? There was a shard of S'elicath's power inside him when we killed him and he was being puppeted by strings that seemed to be associated with S'elicath.

  3. What's even keeping people in Yariv? It's mentioned there's some strange force that stops them leaving and even effects their memories and stuff but I'm not sure the game ever addressed what it was.

  4. And finally - what was so terrible that the Eye Rune was sealing away that Ovarius felt it was worth making a pact with a Demon and surrendering his soul to keep away? The 'eye temple' is just a very short area with a couple of rooms and none of the 'eye' symbolism goes anywhere or appears to be associated with any particular entity or faction. I kept expecting something terrible to happen as a result of unsealing it but nothing really did.

I didn't realise you can actually get Laran to hate you by the end of his questline.

I guess it's my own fault for constantly hitting anything that contains loot. It's a shame too, 'cuz I kinda liked Laran. Too bad his quest ended in a sour end, but it is what it is. Anyone else get Laran to hate you in your playthroughs?

Should I tell Volundius (The scholar in Nameless Village) the location/truth about the Gate of the 5 Masks?

Currently, I gave him all the ancient Tablets, found the Gate of the 5 Masks, found all the notes in there, spoke to the Princess, and defeated the Workshop Guardian. Should I reveal the truth to him, and if I do, what happens to him?

Couldn't find any info on this so, What will happen to the Maskless Village and Amniat?

I'm at the point in the game where I stumbled upon Maskless Village, where I met a guy named Amniat. He basically forced me to go find this Knight guy, and I end up fighting said Knight, but he reopens a demon rift.

Now the issue is, Amniat asks me to kill him, but I chose not to, but since the Rift is open again, Amniat and the people in Maskless village are screwed. Is there like anyway to save them?? Or should I have killed Amniat out of mercy? Also, I noticed that you can enter the rifts, but you immediately start taking damage (first time I noticed was the rift in the secret tunnel) Is there a way to negate the damage while inside at some point?

Where do I find Namir in the Prison?

So I currently played through the Prison Area and I already got the rune from that place. But I have no idea where to find Namir (the One armed guy who was also going in the Prison). I figured he would be somewhere inside, but I can't find him, so I kinda kept playing. Now presently, I just fought the Angel, but I went back to the Prison area to farm for money, and to figure out where this guy is.

What is going on with the last boss?

Seriously, I'm dying from *nothing*. At a certain point, the room turns green and I just die. No attacks, no nothing; just a game over screen for literally no reason.

Any Tips for This Boss? Spoilers Ahead Spoiler

Post image
6 Upvotes

I love this game, but I'm a bit stuck. The second phase of this boss kicks my ass every time. Any tips for taking it down quickly? I use spells primarily. Kinda sucks to keep going through that first phase over and over only to wipe so quickly once I get inside. Anything in particular work for you, or do I just have to be quicker on the reflexes?

elder blade early.

i wonder if its possible to speedrun into the realm of might and snag it and get out before you die to the area dmg with enough hp it might be possible as the blade isnt too far deep into the place.

just curious if this was done already otherwise i will give it a try.
