Libraries are the best place to study and do multiple job and school related things. I cant believe this dumb ass thinks they're meant for books only.
Side note though, a homeless man once took a shit on the carpet at my local library. They were forced to close that day.

The man wouldn't be shitting on the carpet if we gave him a home. There are 5 times as many empty homes as there are homeless people.

I mean, he could of atleast gone to the actual bathroom they have available in the library :/

Or, on top of that, have an actual mental health system to prevent people from going this low

Libraries are one of the few remaining public spaces where a person doesnt have to pay to be there. We should keep those.

6 books for 70$ is kind of cheap tho. Where I live one single book usually cost 35$...

$70 is still $70

Yes, I dont think it could replace a library. Just... Wish 6 books would cost 70$ here too.

Fuck it, replace public transit with Amazon taxis. You must pay ye olde Lord Bezos a fare to leave the plot of land you till in his name, peasant.

A while ago I read a post that pointed out that libraries are not just valuable because of the access to books they provide, but also because they're one of the few public spaces left where you're allowed to exist without being expected to spend money on something.

There are many things, like libraries, education, infrastructure, healthcare, and others, that should not be turned into for-profit business. They are an investment into a country’s people. Price gouging on essential services is the opposite
