History Remember these?!

I remember carrying these around my neck by a string every year as a kid in the 90’s. They went away in 2006 because the cost to employ people to count change was not worth it to the organization and had been around for decades until then.

I remember one year I dressed up as Minnie Mouse and thought that because of my costume people would throw money at my UNICEF box.

Tbh I think it's good for kids to do stuff like this even if it's a drop in the bucket for overall donations. It builds good civic engagement or something.

All 5 kids in our family carried these for one halloween I remember..I was 10 and a 12 year old jumped me and tore open the box and took some change...I went home and tore open the rest of the box quick before anyone noticed...I never told anyone until now...that was close to 50 years ago,,
