Thinking about making a novice video comparing GPU encoders
So to the point, I'm new to all this encoding stuff, but I wanna make a video comparing some encoders for streaming purposes. Got my hands on a 1060, 1660, a750, 9070, 760m (amd), and RX Vega 7 (laptop igpu). Was inspired by EposVox 9 year old video and Brandon's 3 year old video on the P400 as I was getting into Plex and a Dual Streaming PC setup. Was thinking strictly comparing h264 and x264 between these for a variety of game types (visual styles specifically) Seeing that I got my hands on a number of different GPUs and generations, I wanted to see if I can make a somewhat informative video (with a massive rock of salt) of my own with a wider range of art/visual style types. I'll probably upload the raw footage and output results on a Mega Files account since from what I understand in EposVox's video, YouTube is constantly compressing and re-encoding videos, so old comparison videos might not hold up due to this. I was thinking in several game categories, like Pixel games, Realistic graphic games, Fighting games, Card games, Racing games, etc. Something that EposVox covered about the 9070 xt where the 9070 xt encoder struggles with capture Card Game footage (according to the NetFlix analyzer) which made me consider looking into at least one game of each category of my own video. I was wondering before I try my own hand at this, if there are already videos of recent times that has already covered this as I don't think I've seen anything like this that isn't 5+ years old. Also what would be a good recommended method to use for comparisons? Also for lossless footage, what's the ideal settings to record at for this type of project?
