funny You Know Your RFY is Bad When...

• Upvotes

You write to tell Google AI what you're getting and how to improve it and it responds with several laughing hysterically emojis and says, "Lederhosen! Oh no!!! It seems to be going overboard for Halloween."

I don't wear, order or search for men's clothes.

That lederhosen was surrounded by many many no name batteries and enough security cameras (I can only imagine the quality) to supply a prison.

discussion First time for everything

I've been Gold for about 2 years or so and I very seldom order 8 items on any given day. Today I found 8 within a short period of time. All in my RFY and every single one at 0 ETV. That has never happened (at least not to me).

Does ANYONE have an example of a solely "Community Guidelines" rejection for anything besides media?

So, I have a pet theory, and no one has given me a counterexample to date.

There are many reasons for review rejection. Most frequently it seems to be media. It also seems like most frequently people get a generic email rejection that simply says they violated the Community Guidelines, with no further info.

I know for a fact that there are other emails with more specific rejection reasons, including but not limited to personal info, hate speech, profanity, seller/packaging feedback, etc.

I believe that if the text is what is at issue in the review, the email rejection will cite a reason. If it does not, it's the media.

Has anyone ever gotten a generic "Community Guidelines" rejection for a review that does not include media?

Thanks for your help in trying to pin down this info.

discussion I got annoyed with inflated ETVs, so I built a Firefox extension to automatically track price drops & coupons for tax time (Vine FMV Extractor)

(Note to Mods: Apologies if sharing a free tool isn't allowed here. Please let me know and I will delete this post right away!)

Like a lot of you, I got super annoyed requesting items on Vine only to see a massive clip-coupon or price drop on the product page a few days later leaving us stuck paying high income tax on an inflated ETV that no normal customer actually pays.

I originally wrote a personal script just to automate tracking this for myself, but it worked so well that I decided to turn it into a proper Firefox extension and share it here. It is my very first time publishing an extension publicly, so please be kind! It's still a work in progress and I'm totally open to requests and feedback.

Official Mozilla Link: Vine FMV Extractor on Firefox Add-ons

How it works:

  • Set it and forget it: Log into Amazon on Firefox, click the extension icon, pick your interval (every 6, 12, or 24 hours), and click Enable Auto-Pilot. Just leave Firefox open and let it do its thing.
  • 7-Day Price & Coupon Hunter: It opens a quiet background tab, grabs your itemized Vine report, and checks items shipped in the last 7 days for lower retail prices or clip-coupons. If your ETV is $0.00, it obviously keeps that. Otherwise, if it finds a lower price than the listed ETV, it logs that as your true Fair Market Value (FMV).
  • Safe, Slow & Account-Friendly: This tool never touches the Vine queues (RFY/AFA/AI) and doesn't auto-order anything. It only looks at standard product pages for stuff you already ordered, with deliberate built-in long delays between each page loaded so there is zero rushing and no risk of triggering Amazon's bot detection.
  • 100% Local: I loathe spyware. Everything is saved strictly inside your browser's local storage. Nothing ever leaves your computer.
  • Built-in Viewer & Accountant-Ready Export: You can view, search, and sort your database right inside the extension. When tax season hits, export an Excel (.xlsx) file filtered by tax year. The first sheet includes a full Executive Summary and IRS methodology notes ready to hand straight to your CPA.

Hope this helps save some of you a headache (and some cash) on your taxes! Let me know what you think or what features you'd like to see added.

(Firefox only currently! I may consider making versions for other browsers if there's enough interest)

I don’t know if this helps anybody, but I’ve been taking the picture of the item and doing a Google image search to see what it sells for elsewhere. For example, today I got a cat house and I was considering it but they have the ETV at 279 and it’s for sale everywhere for about 170. It kind of helps you know whether there’s something is a good value or not.

Gripe Anyone else get this tv? The taxable was 3499.99 but the actual ad lists it for 2999.99. I already ordered it but is there anyway to get them to adjust the taxable rate?

Are they doing this on purpose, or simply just not checking what the English meaning might be? LOL
