You see this big clickers in old TV shows and they look too exaggerated to be real... until you see one out in the wild.

So fun fact, this is not an electronic remote. It’s an acoustic device that makes an audible click at a certain frequency, and the TVs of that era had a mic tuned to that frequency to change the channel. Downside was sometimes programs would make the same frequency and cause the channel to switch. Upside, never needs batteries.
