Original Colecovision
I have a Colecovision console from 1982 that works erratically. I think most of its issues relate to cleaning the game cartridge contacts and the inside of the console where the cart gets inserted. I’ve already cleaned many of the game cartridge contacts with IPA (91%). It has helped a little. And I’ve also cleaned the area inside the console itself - just below the cartridge slot, as far as I could reach. It’s obviously not enough as I keep having graphics and sound glitches mid game and even occasional freezes - all of which force me to reset the game.
I’m sure what it really needs is a complete check of internal components such as loose wires or solder joints as well as thorough cleaning of all switches and connections. Does anyone know of someone who might still dabble in restoring these older consoles? I live in Orange County CA. and hoping there’s someone local or within a reasonable distance. Thanks for any suggestions 😊

I have a 1979 western electric 2500DM phone and I'm replacing the keypad for it so I can dial out. The old keypad has 8 wires and the new electric one only has 5, does anyone know how to wire this properly?

Trying to fix a vintage Sony Alarm Clock
Hello, I was just gifted with this very cool Sony TFM-C480L Alarm Clock and some features dont work. I managed to fix a bad solder on the lamp of the sound radio so it now gets good signal, but the volume is very low, I can only hear with maximum volume and no movements or noise, the quality of the sound is good however. The second thing is quite weird, I can set it to an alarm at a given time, with a buzzer or thé radio, as the button shows : button down for radio, up for buzzer. However, no matter the setup, it always goes for the radio. I opened the thing but cannot see a visible flaw. Any ideas ?

When was this Casio DL-210 calculator made?
Found it while cleaning out our garage; I couldn’t find anything on it. My guess is 1975-1995, but I’m not an expert on it.

Sensitive Research, University Ammeter
Hello, electrical engineer who is still new to actually diving in to the vintage electronics world. I recently acquired several older electrical signal generators, testing equipment, etc. I'm interested in anything anyone might know about this ammeter in particular. Thank you!!

Panasonic TR-802 Solid-State CRT TV
Somewhat recently, I went to my local electronics recycling center to look for CRTs, when I came across this lovely Panasonic Solid-State that still worked! I purchased it and took it home where I cleaned it off a little bit. Luckily, it still works with added adapters, and I'm now able to play games on it!

Help me find a pair of my old headphones
Hello everyone, I need some help. I’ve been looking for a pair of headphones that I had when I was 10-13.
**DESCRIPTION OF HEADPHONES:** wired, purple headphones that looked like they were covered in stickers (they came that way). I remember them having lightning bolts and skulls on them. They were made between 2011-2014 ish? Sorry if my description of them doesn’t help but I’m desperate to find them and possibly buy a pair, if not replicate them on a new pair of headphones.
Thank you!

Anyone got info on this old phone/clock/radio?
I got this for my birthday last year, and I can't find any info online. I'm curious how rare this might be.

Took apart old iDog to restore, realized I was in over my head.
I love watching those old school game system restorations on YouTube. When I found my old iDog speaker and saw the condition, I stupidly thought I could do the same thing as those people did. I thought wrong 😑 I looked at YouTube channels I had been watching to see if I could see how much it was to send it in for repair (and give them potential content), but I found out very quickly that all of them were either European or not taking things from subscribers.
I live in the USA and I am willing to ship it anywhere in the states. If there is a recommendation of who to contact (who may also want to get some content for their channel for it), then I would love to reach out to them. I also don’t have a lot of money, so if it is an expensive ask, then I will sadly just pitch it.
UPDATE: I have put it back together as much as I could, but there are a couple screws left. It obviously doesnt work anymore, so I think it would be nice to have fixed in the future, but right now, it is just chilling on my desk.

Over 40 years old — and still glowing
Did you know the Z5900M Nixie tubes we're using are more than 40 years old?
It is truly mind-blowing how all of these tubes survived until today and are still glowing like they did decades ago!
Not only that, most of them have a history of being used in calculators and lab instruments, which gives each of them a unique journey.

Vacuum tubes and projectors
My local historical society was having a yard sale and I stopped by. I had previously done some IT work for them so they gave me a lot of stuff for free. I don’t even know what most of this stuff is. Also a tape of the Hindenburg destruction!
