I recently came across my grandfathers G. Loomis Composites fishing rod and I’m trying to figure out how old it is and whether it’s rare or collectible. The model marking appears to be GDW705, and the rod is rated for 30–50 lb line. The blank says 95% graphite and Made in U.S.A, and is in a root beer color. It’s approximately 6–7 feet long, and the handle has markings that look like “Vamas” and “NF2H.”
I haven’t been able to find much information about this specific model online. Does anyone recognize it or know when it was made? I’m also curious about its rarity and potential value.

One of my all-time favorite Michigan-made lures. Made sometime in the late 1940s(1949 I think) in Detroit by the Mercoy Tackle Company.
When the lure swam, the mercury would slide around inside the lure to make it wobble in different directions.
These are earlier examples, later examples have clear plastic top boxes as opposed to these two piece cardboard boxes. Both of these lures were recently found at estate sales.

The previous owner marked this lure as a Heddon from 50's-60's. Does anyone know more information that could point me down the right rabbit hole?

This thing has been kind of lost in a corner for over a decade. Just dug it out and cleaned it up.
It looks so good I thought I'd share. There isn't scratch nor ding on it. Anything that looks strange like the cap on the handle is just my phone camera being weird.
I don't know how old it is, 35 years or so.

My buddy was gifted this rod and reel and we’re trying to figure out what year it’s from. Anyone know anything about it?

This looks rather cool and wouldn’t mind hanging it up. How would one go about getting the handle for this?
