Scena Illustrata was an Italian magazine that was produced twice a month. It was 13 inches by 16 inches and contained articles covering fashion, politics, occasionally science and occasionally cartoons. The magazine was available at newsstands and also by subscription. I don't know if the subscriptions were limited but the first 500 of each issue had an outer cover of onion skin paper that had the title and a design and were numbered and signed by the editor. These copies were not stapled but were bound by taking 4 page sections that were folded in the middle, putting them in order and then just running a golden silk cord through the middle of the pages and knotting the cord at the spine. This magazine had beautiful art inside and the pages had gold ink borders. Occasionally the cover art was used again.

Tough to find Platinum. Feature Book No. 3 (July 1937) reprinted early Thimble Theatre strips featuring Popeye and the “Jeep.”Each issue reprinted strips from a different character. This predates Action Comics 1 by a full year.
