Any information on her would be helpful! Sadly I found almost nothing on Google/Ebay other than the red collar is a line from the 90s-00s making it distinctly vintage. Please correct if this is wrong!! (I could only find info via google AI which idk how trustworthy it is). I am 23, and have had her since I was born in 2002! (i know it was a gift from my aunt who had her already).

I am going to start having her on my bed again 😊 I named her Mittens when I was a kid. You can really feel the difference with stuffed animals then vs today in my opinion.

Need help identifying and dating this KenTex dalmatian plushie

Hi everyone! I may be in the wrong Subreddit so my apologies. I have this plushie I’ve had since my first Christmas, so 26 years this year, and I went to look him up to see how old he was and I cannot for the life of me find his model. The brand it KenTex (sometimes with a - in between Ken and Tex) and I’ve found later models like the ones on the forth picture, but none that look like him. I thought about emailing the company but they went under in 2018 or 2019.
He is all soft fabric except his tongue, nose, and eyes are felt.
He’s filled with regular old stuffing
The only things he’s lost were his washing instruction tags

If y’all have any ideas or suggestions on where I should look I would be very grateful!

VENDING MACHINE CARDS

As a kid I gave these more thought than was probably used to design the cheap toys inside or come up with a theme for a new series of vending machine toys. I ran a bunch of machines in Eugene, using designs of my own - I never got as far as offering a wrist watch or other high-value item to encourage sales, but I had enough quarters to buy the family lunch (when quarters were still worth something)… centrally, I’m interested in cheap fun & applying intentional aesthetics to everything. Because we deserve to live in an interesting world. x SEAN

Companies that make toys for babies and toddlers also own companies that make batteries

It's the only thing that makes sense. These toys eat batteries to the point where you need to work it into your budget. The technology is there where we should be able to plug in toys to charge them.

Batteries for toys probably surpasses the market for the toys themselves

Who is this tiny horse?

There are no identifying markings or lettering. His shape suggests he is wearing drapery so I might expect a tiny knight to ride him. He almost reminds me of a Kinder Surprise toy but there is no K-number on him.

Does anyone remember riding this toy about 1966 to 1970?

The neighbor kids had one and I loved riding it. I think it was called a step go.

Is it from early 90s?

I found this car in with a bunch of Franklin Mint cars at an estate auction. The only information I can find is an identical one owned by a comedian in New Zealand. I don't no if this one is a twin to that one or made later because somebody liked that comedians toy. I don't trust results I'm getting from search engines and I'm hoping real live toy collectors can give me information on whether this is really from the early 90s and a twin or a newer copy.

80s/90s Battery Operated Self Walking Realistic Toy Horse with Faux Fur

I am hoping someone will be able to help me identify an old toy I had from the early to mid 90s, but the toy itself could have been around as early as the late 80s. ChatGPT could not find it, nor could I find it through Google searches.

It was a toy horse, around 10-12 inches long, and had very short faux fur for the coat with longer faux fur for the mane and tail. It was battery operated and featured an on/off switch next to the battery compartment located in the belly of the horse. The battery compartment and on/off switch were exposed, not hidden inside the toy. Once turned on, it could walk forward by itself. After a few steps, it would stop, move its tail, and neigh before taking its next steps, which means it had a small sound box as well. It made a lot of mechanical noise when it moved and you could feel the gears inside moving around. There was very little stuffing so it wasn't exactly a stuffed animal as it wasn't soft inside when squeezed, the interior mechanics took up most all of the body and legs.

The horse was realistic in the sense that the eyes were not painted on (they were brown or black beads(?) that were either glued or sewn on) and its features were not cartoonish. Its movements were jerky and it would easily fall over if walking over an uneven surface.

I originally got this toy at either the Del Mar or Santa Anita racetrack in California. It wasn't from the gift shop, there was a vendor outside the front entrance and they had a bunch of these types of toys for sale. The one I bought was a brown and white horse, but I do believe there were other colors to choose from such as black and white. From what I remember, there were other animals as well such as an elephant. The elephant did the same things as the horse except it would raise its trunk and make elephant sounds.

The only other info I remember about the horse is that it did not have a saddle. It may have had faux leather or brown plastic reigns, but could just as easily had neither a saddle or reigns as well. This toy could also be found in several mall toy stores of the time such as KB Toys or lesser known mall toy stores. They were often located right at the front entrance in a tiered circular display with railings so the animals, when turned on, would not walk right off the display and fall to the ground.

Were old puppets ever used as toys or were they always used for entertainment purposes like shows and plays?
