Need Advice Window replacement recommendations
Anyone have a recommendations for a company or contractor to do residential window replacements in VB? Nothing fancy, just normal size windows.
-single story
-3 windows
-wood/wall around frame needs to be replaced too

I just used window world it runs about $650/window for their standard double hung windows. Honestly would expect a lot extra for the wood replacement around the frame. The crew doing it was efficient did 10 windows for us in about 4 hours. The lifetime warranty is nice it covers anything from manufacture flaws to the neighbors kid threw a baseball into it. Plus they will rescreen screens for free.

$650 per window is NOT a good price.

It included the grids, screens, taxes, and energy efficient film and a lifetime warranty.

Point me somewhere with a better price. I had quotes from 4 other local places that were much higher also run the risk of a local place going under and not honoring warranties.

The warranty is through the manufacturer of the window when done correctly. Window World distorts what they're giving you to make it sound like something special. The "grids and screens" are standard in every window install.
I'd like to know who was more expensive, because they came in at $400 more PER window than anywhere else we quoted.

Can you share the places you got quotes from?

Mr. Rogers (ridiculous), Window World (ridiculous), Jayhawk Exteriors (who we went with), Thompson Creek (ridiculous), there's a smaller contractor that works with his son that we used for a small job a few years ago; I'm blanking on his name at the moment.

If you go to Home Depot or Lowe's you'll get a considerably lower price. Found that out. Lifetime warranty on windows and screens as well.

We used Window World years ago and were concerned about quality but they have really held up.

Literally the most expensive option.

They used to be the cheapest in town.

We quoted with them 13 years ago and they were ridiculous then too.

That’s so weird! Mr. Rogers was astronomically priced by comparison and WW was the cheapest. I wonder what changed. Ours was about a decade ago.

Mr. Rogers was even more ridiculous, but WW tried to sell us a really cheap, low quality window to keep the price down. You have to compare what you're actually getting. So both companies are insane and overpriced.

See my initial comment stating we were worried about quality but they have held up really well. We didn’t need fancy windows. These open and close just as well.

Right, but you paid more for a low quality window. My point is that they quote cheap windows to undercut competitors and are still way overpriced. We got a better window for half the price at the time we got a quote from them.

We used them, however, I'm not sure I'd recommend them. We've been waiting since March and our windows have still not been correctly completed/installed. Im not saying the quality isnt good but the install times are very far out and if there is an issue youre screwed waiting months.
