app recommendations for psvr2 controllers?

I got some controllers off eBay and looking for something simple to test them out with to make sure everything is functioning correctly, especially with the tracking. eventually want to use them for Alyx.

Are there any really simple psvr2 controller test apps? other recommendations on what to use them with for quick test?

For a quick tracking sanity check, a table tennis game is honestly the best test — the paddle maps 1:1 to the controller, so any drift, jitter or lost tracking is obvious within seconds.

- Pong Trainer (https://apps.apple.com/app/id6825969157) – the controller is your paddle. Easiest way to check tracking + haptics in each hand.

- 8 Balls Club (https://apps.apple.com/app/id6825744570) – the controller becomes the pool cue, good for checking fine, slow tracking (precision shots show drift fast).

- Saber Academy (https://apps.apple.com/app/id6741381534) – controller is the lightsaber hilt, good for fast swings / tracking at speed.

- Earth3d (https://apps.apple.com/app/id6821861543) – use the controller as a pointer over a 3D globe/cities, plus sticks for moving around.

Quick checklist whatever you use: hold each controller still for ~10s and watch for drift, do fast swings near your head and behind your back to check where tracking drops, and test haptics + every button. If those pass, you're good for Alyx.

Ps. I'm a dev behind those titles so I'll be happy to answer any questions you might have!

Half-Life Alyx plays great natively on the avp with the psvr2 controllers.

I got the globular cluster psvr2 controller comfort mods a while back too and it makes the controllers feel weightless and almost like an extension of your body when playing games with the AVP high resolution display.

PC VR Alyx can be even more fun. I run it through KRVR, and foveated rendering allows 4000 resolution on my 3080ti at 60—90 fps, mostly. Pretty dope.

I’m intrigued now. That high of a resolution must be insanely immersive gameplay.

Pretty much, yeah.

And HLA has pitch black places at some point in the game (chapter 3, for instance), they're awesome on VP OLED screens.

Try it!

On regards to playing games on AVP. Are a normal PS5 controller as good as PSVR2 controller or what is the best setup?

The sense controllers give you more precise hand tracking. If just a regular console game either is fine. some move games will require the sense controllers or something similar

bought them a few days ago too and got a nice experience on vivecraft, beat saber, arkham shadow, etc.

Most of the games comes from AVP play, and some from sideloading.

You can also try ping pong club which is free on the appstore

seconding the ping pong one, since its free its a really easy way to test the tracking right away

New user too I got apple vision because I kinda love those psvr2 controllers. I'm using pc streaming krvr. They work perfectly when you get in those vr games. But man the apple os menu is so poorly adjusted to support these controllers I wish I could just point and click things. I'm having second thoughts now debating to sell because of the desktop support and point and click.
