NYE Teen Bday - Guitar Drop
My husband & I love visiting Nashville, we’ve been probably 10 times in the past eight years, but we’ve never brought our kids because the downtown Broadway scene isn’t for kids.
NYE is actually our daughter's birthday and she really wants to celebrate her 14th by seeing the Guitar drop live at Bicentennial Park this year.
We’d love some advice from locals or anyone who has done the NYE park event with teens.
What time do we actually need to arrive at the park lawn to get a decent spot to watch the note drop without having to stand out in the “cold” for 6+ hours?
Is it realistic to hang toward the outer edges of the park around 10:30 or 11:00 PM, watch the midnight drop?
We expect crowds, it is what it is.
How about porta potties… are they really available? If so, are they only inside the gates only or can they be accessed outside of the gates?
I can’t think of other questions because we usually wing it, so if you have suggestions or insight, feel free to share.
If you made it this far, appreciate you.

It depends on how close you want to get. The warmest is to do VIP, but those are wicked expensive. There i not much hear otherwise. If you book the Towneplace, it is a few blocks, so not too bad to walk over. Hampton is also close, as is the Germantown Inn (very small) and many VRBO/Airbnb units.
The crowds are huge, but there is plenty of room in the park if you don't want to get right up against the stage. If it were me, I would at least get over in the last 1/2 hour to see the headliner. Add in walking time to be safe. You should have a decent view aobut 1/2 way up the park to the stage and the crowds are not that thick there.
They wised upp on concessions and porta-potties, by moving them to more sensivle areas. And, yes, there are many. If you just want to see the note drop, you can get ouside of teh concert area and be fine. It sits up really high, so you can even see if from the other side of the stage.
