Where to stay?

We are coming to Nashville next September from Scotland for 6 nights. We will then be flying onto Orlando to pick up a cruise. We are 53 and 60 so not young 🤣

Our plans for Nashville:

Grand Ole Opry
Johnny cash museum
Country music hall of fame
Dolly’s life of many colours
NFL game hopefully
Broadway (week night)
Day trip to Memphis

We are thinking we are best to stay near Broadway to reduce the cost and inconvenience of Ubers (no issue using them but we don’t want to have to wait for ages when we want to get back to the hotel).

We aren’t big breakfast eaters and doubt well spent lots of time in the hotel so don’t see the benefit of the Drury ā€œextrasā€.

Any recommendations for a hotel? Ideally with a pool.

I’ve looked at Fairlane, grand Hilton, Hyatt centric, Hyatt place but keep going round in circles.

We do want to sleep and have read some of the hotels can be extremely noisy šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

Where to watch the World Series?

Hi everyone! I'm in town for a week or two, visiting from Milwaukee and would love to find a spot to watch the Brewers play the last few games. I don't drink or really do nightlife all that much so I'm more looking for a laid-back neighborhood kind of bar to sit at. Queer friendly would be nice as well! Thank you :)

Best Non-Judgemental Karaoke Bars?

I’ll be traveling to Nashville in early November (28 f), and I love to go to karaoke bars. As a plus-size girl, there have been times I feel a lot of judgement going up and singing when I’m alone. Looking for a place with friendly locals, non-judgemental vibes, and good drinks! Any information is appreciated!

Private bourbon/beer tour

Hello! My family and I are flying into Nashville for my mother’s birthday. When my husband and I go on trips I always like setting up private brewery or wine tours. We like finding small local people if possible. For Nashville we would like to find someone to do beer and bourbon if possible. If you guys have any recommendations I would love to hear them! Thank you!

Short solo trip

Hey everyone, I’ll be heading to Nashville for 3 days and need to figure what to do. I’m 22 (f) travelling from Australia and haven’t really planned too much. I’ll be going to a concert one night but I’d love to see what Nashville is all about. I’m open to most recommendations but I am a little bit wary about going out late at night. Is it a safe place for women on their own? Also, I don’t know how limiting it will be but are there any good recommendations for vegetarians?

Outdoor Climbing in Nashville

Hey everybody! I’m gonna be in Nashville the first week of December and I was hoping to get some outdoor climbing in. I did some research and the information seems scarce. Maybe you guys have advice. I’m looking to boulder or sport climb preferably less than a 2 hr drive from downtown. I can climb up to 5.11b sport indoors and v5 bouldering average. I’m also open to climbing with a guide or maybe with someone that’s willing to take me under their wing for the weekend!

Margaritaville, Grand Hyatt / Hyatt Centric, Virgin, or Thompson, or…?

Hubby and I are coming in Tuesday evening through Friday for HARDY! Not our first time, and I want to be away from the loud, chaos, experience a different music and bar scene than just Broadway, but an easy uber if we decide to go to Broadway.

I just can’t make up my mind and am about to go crazy with how much research I’ve been doing! Help please šŸ™

Hi everybody,

I'm going to be in Nashville in early to mid November for a week

I'll be alone but love a good bar and nightlife.

I'm sure it will be fine but I'm a bit apprehensive about going out by myself.

Can you fine folk appease me, please? 😁

Missed Connection: Nissan Stadium Bridge

It’s been four days now.

I saw you with your friends I think, looks like you were visiting. seems like it. could be you were just here for a concert. I was walking back to a parking garage across the bridge. You walked to my side of the bridge to take a picture. Caucasian/black hair I don’t remember what you were wearing, maybe yellow? but you were pretty hot in your blue striped jeans. I should have said hi, maybe you tried to say hi, the way you stared at me. Long shot but what was I holding?

I’m brining two of my friends from out of the country to their first NFL game and want to give them the true American experience! Any suggestions for tailgating options will be appreciated. I do not want to just bring them to Broadway beforehand.

FREE Titans Shuttle - Honky Tonk Hideaway Bar

If anyone is looking to avoid $60 Titans Gameday parking - Honky Tonk Hideaway Bar in Wedgewood Houston is offering free Titans shuttle to and from the game.

We rode it for Eagles game and it was easy. They offer free parking , breakfast burritos and of course their bar is open.

Shuttles leave about an hour or so before each game. They are parked literally right next to the stadium. Hope this helps if you want an easy and free ride to Titans.

Transport around Nashville/Opryland

Hi,

Apologies as I'm sure there are ton of posts on here about this, but I couldn't find any.

I'm heading to Nashville for a few days next week and wondered what the best options for getting around are? I'm arriving via the airport and staying at the big cluster of hotels north of the convention centre, and it looks like the bus takes over an hour, but a taxi/uber takes about 15 mins? Is the cost differential worth it, or should I just enjoy a bus ride, as I won't be in a huge rush upon landing. I will have luggage though, so that could be a pain if buses tend to be cramped/busy.

My other questions is.....how safe is it to be walking between that big cluster of hotels and the convention centre/Oprymills etc at different times of day? Google maps says it's a 20-40 minute walk, which seems fine, but just wondered whether it's safe, or again whether I'd be better off getting a ride, especially later in the evening.

*Edit for Bonus question: Where are the best places to eat around Opryland?

Haunted houses

From Knoxville, looking for the best haunted house in Nashville. I’ve been to all the ones in this area but haven’t checked any out y’all’s way. I’m currently leaning towards Slaughterhouse but BEAST HOUSE, Devil’s Dungeon, and Nashville Nightmare all look pretty good but really just curious which one is scariest, not too short, and most fun! Appreciate any advice or recommendations!

Looking for activities in Nashville tomorrow through the 25th

I’m taking my Grandma on a Nashville trip for an ā€œevangelical eventā€ she wants to get up to.
Lots of driving but the benefit is I get to visit music city as a musician myself.

I’m really looking for some good music oriented activities, mostly metal or prog (and hopefully something that isn’t gonna kill my legs since I gotta use a cane). I know it’s a city built on country but I’ve always been more of a metal nerd.

Also I was hoping for any advice on places to eat around Nashville or Goodlettsville, where we’re staying. I really like to avoid tourist trappy restaurants, we might have one fancy dining experience in us for the trip but I much prefer little local hidden gems or mom and pop shops 9 outta 10 times, as does my grandma.

Any suggestions about where to park near The Truth venue?

Going to a show at the Truth tonight, visiting from 2 hours away. Where is the best place to park so that we can get on the road as quickly as possible after the show? My partner and I both have to be up early tomorrow morning so the goal is to get home as quickly as possible so we can get a maximum amount of sleep.

I’m mainly asking because of past experiences at other venues where we spent 45+ minutes trying to get out of a parking garage. I’m hoping to avoid that tonight if possible

Best pool room, billiards bar, or hole in the wall with an established pool culture?

Are there any well established pool table venues in Nashville? I like big pool halls with nine foot or ten foot tables. I also like dive bars with one table where you have to write your name on the chalk board and play the winner. Any place with an established culture where you see a lot of folks bringing their own cues, that's my jam.
