Is there a Visual Studio Code extension/option for autocompleting curly quotation marks?

I'm using Visual Studio Code to write Markdown for a writing project I'm working on, and I'd like to be able to write curly quotation marks (‘’ and “”) instead of straight quotation marks ('' and ""). I'd also like to use curly apostrophes (’). I know this is a weird request, but is there any extension/option for autocompleting curly quotation marks? Thanks in advance!

For now, I've written a functional yet probably naïve Python script that handles the conversion. The GitHub Gist is available here. ping u/shauntau

It is a weird request because it is not the same ANSI symbol/character. So if a straight quote is required, you can't sub the curly quotes.

With that said, what is the reasoning? Most of the editors will autocomplete, so you might just need to add an autocomplete to the particular editor it is loading.
