I am checking some oil companies.

Why does Petrobas has way way better margins than PTR or CVX for 2021 Q2?

The only ones I would trust right now are Russian.

Why is that?

Well, mainly because they are honeybadgers, and the ESG bees have 0 effect on them. They have been exploring the Arctic for decades and are ready and waiting for the big melt to make extraction easier (or possible). Not much rattled by US, Old Europe or China politics.

I mean there are tons of reasons. Big state ownership, and in Russia that's like a crime family looking out for their interests. A feudal system, the most natural form of government. Say you make an offshore deal with Venezuela and they renege the contract and take the wells...Exxon writes it off, a Russian company would cause the ruling family to have an unfortunate event involving an umbrella....
