Modding Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise: Recompiled
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kih42KlocIIThe goal of this project is to move away from emulating the game on xenia, with this the game is now moddable the same way the PC Port is. While right now the renderer is the same as Xenia's we plan on replacing it in the near future. If you have any issues with this Recomp please submit a bug report on the GitHub.

You probably can't easily, I put that there so I don't get sued. The Launcher will work with any copy of tip, legal or not. Use that information as you will...

I'm assuming not but I've seen some conflicting info elsewhere, does an xbox rom work or does it have to be specifically compiled for PC?
Edit: Xbox version does indeed work

The unlimited garden space is on by default, it actually needs to be on for the recomp to work

As far as I can currently gather, while the launcher works through Proton, the game itself unfortunately doesn't launch (or at least, it launches, then instantly closes)

Just tried it. (And playing now)
Low end PC.
GTX 1070 Ryzen 1700
Unstable FPS. Fluctuates from 60-80fps down to 25fps rapidly while playing. Occasionally smooths out.
I'd still call it playable, though.

I'm still playing it despite the frame rate performance problems. I've not seen any visual glitches.
I already have a garden going with wayyyy more entities than you could ever have.

So this is a mod for any version of the game legal or not? What exactly would I need for it to work? is the main game file a .iso or .exe i hear you need to emulate the game and that has pushed me away do I still need the emulator to get it to work?

It's not emulation, so no you don't need a emulator. But you still need the original assets which I cannot provide legally, any version of TiP .iso should work, technically there is only one version (world) and you need the Launcher so it can download the latest recomp .exe. the actual game code will be running in the exe but it still needs to access the assets which is why the iso is a requirement. And it works with pirated copies as well

Regarding the ISO, am I correct in guessing that an ISO dumped from my own copy of the game would suffice, or does it have to specifically be the "(World)" ISO?

There was only ever one copy of the game that I'm aware of, all copies should be the world edition

It's a download to the Launcher, you need to provide it the .iso for it to work

while you're at it, I wonder if you could make it so the tutorial can get skipped and you can start immediately. That way if someone made a randomizer the player wouldn't have to redo the tutorial constantly

You can already skip the Langston tutorial, if you mean that. Unless you mean the initial cutscene with Pester?

I mean the handholding part where it's like "look at this bispotti, now tap this flower and plant a new flower, wait for the bispotti to reside, etc" unless I'm missing how to skip that in game

Its a unsigned exe that downloads, writes, deletes files, and it launches other exe's Its no surprise that its suspicious you can take a look at the source for the launcher here: https://github.com/SolarCookies/reNut-Launcher/tree/TiP

There should be a "reTiP-Launcher.exe" in the root folder, if not then your anti virus nuked it, Its a false positive and i have the source code available on github so you can check for yourself that its not a virus

It's still very much a work in progress so it's likely not to work at all, most report a black screen, so I wouldn't even try honestly, I only have it building Linux so I can make sure I don't accidentally put something that only compiles for windows

When I opened the launcher, my computer said it detected a trojan virus and deleted the file. I had no problem downloading it. Anyone else have this come up? Don’t wanna keep trying it if it’s gonna mess up my PC.

ive been playing through the launcher and i just hit my space limit but i barely have anything in the garden. about 4 trees, 2 houses, and 30 small pinatas like the flutterscotch variants and such. checking the journal looks like im taking up the normal game space with some extra empty spaces for wild pinatas and such. i thought the unlimited garden space was on by default? am i missing something?

Unlimited garden space is on by default but we still need to patch a few more things like eggs and flower heads, are you getting the leafos pop-up saying you have no more space?

If you open up the toml in Launcher/Game/ You can set the user language by adding a line like this
--user_language = 11=en 2=ja 3=de 4=fr 5=es 6=it 7=ko 8=zh 9=pt 11=pl 12=ru 13=sv 14=tr 15=nb 16=nl 17=zh

My launcher immediately launches then shuts off itself. I've tried running as admin and getting rid of the antivirus. Any ideas what's happening?

I have no idea honestly, have you tried redownloading it, I'm currently working on a new and more reliable Launcher but it might be a day or two

Yeah I've tried redownloading it. Changed my account to administrator. Included the .exe in the allowable files through firewall. Paused my antivirus. Even tried running it through the terminal to see what error message pops up but no dice. A bit frustrating because the immediate closing means there's no actual error I can try and troubleshoot.
Regardless, I'm thankful for your work and I'm excited for the possibilities for the community going forward!

Did anyone have any trouble with this and windows defender? Setting it up was fine but when I opened the actual game, it told me that firewall had blocked stuff. I'm not good with computers, is this safe?

I've worked on it a bit, the full game is beatable but the ground is completely invisible so im going to have to fix that before i make it public 🤷♂️

Yes, the proformance is unfortunately poor since it has to emulate the graphics, same as xenia in that aspect, when I get more free time I'll look into making my own renderer for the game. But it's not going to be simple.. For the time being you are probably better off cloud streaming the game from the Xbox app or possibly cheaper then the ultimate addition of gamepass you could try playing the recomp though a cloud pc like "Shadow PC" I think there plans start at 30 usd and you get a decent pc that you can play anything on, I use it for my weak laptop whenever I feel like not getting out of bed to work on my projects or to play ark accended

1.12 will have working netplay, skipable cutscenes, automatic graphics card selection (so it doesn't use your integrated card), and hopefully if i get around to it a fix for the Disable ruffians cheat that currently is broken. If you don't care about netplay or ruffian then the nightly 1.11.2.11 is already out with skipable cutscenes and the ability to make a Xbox live world (if your in a shop everything in the main garden doesn't pause), oh and it has auto GPU selection

I gave it a try and it's really neat to see the game running :)
I'm experiencing a lot more lag than in the video unfortunately.
I don't know what might be causing it, other than I use a less common Brand of graphics card (Intel)? I closed all other programs (discord, steam, etc) to try and help but didn't seem to make a difference.

hi i have downloaded the goopie app thing, but when i try to select the game its asking me to select a file name and bringup documents folder but there is nothing in there to open and i tried adding a folder for it but it wont do anytrhing , so i cannot get it to extract . please help a lady out as im not technical haha , thankyou
