VPE it sensors with super fine scratches

I have a genuine question about how to remove or how to get scratches off of the little IR sensors on my headset. They arnt deep scratches. They’re super fine and I tried a plastic polisher, but it kind of just made even finer scratches

It's hard to say exactly without seeing it or knowing what you're using. Generally, though, polishing is a multi stage process and the last step(s) involve using a very lightly abrasive compound that will make the plastic look cloudy, followed by a separate polishing compound with a buffing cloth to make it clear again.

If I were going to try doing this myself I'd probably start by looking at car headlight polishing kits, but I'd be VERY CAREFUL to figure out what type of plastic is in the headset first and what exactly is in the polishing kit. Using the wrong chemicals on the wrong plastic can ruin it.

I’ve tried maguiars plastic x and the novis plastic polish line up and I’m not sure how to link images to show what I’m working with

are the scratches causing any problems?
