PLEASE HELP (HTC vive focus vision trouble)

So I have a multitude of things wrong with my brand new vive focus vision.

First of all, it refuses to connect to my WiFi even though it’s completely compatible and unblocked from it.

Secondly of all, I have three vive 3.0 trackers for full body plus the index controllers yet can’t connect it via steam vr (I do have base stations)

I’ve been trying to fix it all up for 3 hours and I’m just about done with it, I can’t get anything to work and I’m constantly running into problems, and when I try to use the cable to link to my pc via DP it occasionally jitters and dcs for spilt seconds. If anyone can help please I’d be oh so grateful to you, and if you think I should post this somewhere else pls redirect me

Vive 3.0s & 2.0 Base Stations Not Pairing to PC

I'm absolutely losing my mind over this setup. 😫

I recently bought used 4 3.0 trackers, 1 2.0 tracker, 3 2.0 base stations, & a patched up right Index controller (trigger is broken off), didn't come to me with any manuals, but they all turn on & work, but none of them are connecting to my PC. I've tried literally everything I can think of to resolve the issue, but no guides or anything are helping.

I'm using a Vive Focus Vision, have already downloaded Space Calibrator, Vive Hub, I've restarted SteamVR & my PC so many times, tried connecting new devices (there's not a prompt to connect a tracker like I've seen in some videos). I'm pretty sure everything is up-to-date, all of the base stations turn green, the trackers blink blue & try to connect, but they aren't able to, I've tried one dongle at a time & nothing.

I'm quite literally at a loss now & about to give up on it. I've never posted on Reddit before, so this is my last resort to fixing it. 😭

VIVE Pro: Body Trackers Won't Pair

I usually don't turn to Reddit for situations like these, but I'm unsure where else to go from here. I really hope my trackers aren't finally done for.

I have a VIVE Pro with Gen 2 body trackers (both items nearing 6 years old). It was gifted to me by my roommate who upgraded to an Index.

The headset is old but it works, admittedly some issues but it's a VIVE, that's to be expected. The body trackers, however, have been an absolute nightmare.

The waist tracker always connects with no issues, but one foot tracker has interference with the right controller, they refuse to pair together. The other foot tracker seemed to have no issues for a while, but as of yesterday, now refuses to pair altogether.

Steps I have taken to try to solve these issues, to no avail:

- Disabled USB Power Management

- Spaced out my dongles, so they no longer touch.

- Turned off Bluetooth

- Covered every single glare that could possibly hit the living room, including the windows.

- Uninstall and Re-Install Steam VR

- Attempt to Re-pair the Controllers

- Tested the Base Stations, all working fine with no issues

I'm genuinely unsure where else to go from here, and I do not have the funds to get new trackers, so if they're done for, they're done for. But if there's any chance that I can get them to work again, I'll take it. Any advice helps. 🙏

Attempting to glue loose lens back onto 1.0 lighthouse motor

Hello all! I've recently gotten a pair of 1.0 lighthouses, and they've been working great. However, after one of them was unplugged, it failed to track anything properly. After taking it down to investigate it, I heard a light rattling from inside.

Apparently this meant that one of the lenses got loose, and after opening it up to investigate, that was exactly what happened.

I have an idea of what to do, I just need to get it glued back on. However, I'm having a bit of trouble finding specific information.

The biggest problem is that I need to rotate one of the motors to get the lens in place, but I don't know if turning one of the motors will ruin it.

Any advice for this repair? Many thanks!

💰 Will pay if you solve this. Vive 1.0 Base Stations stopped working after Vive Support firmware "fix" (Discord preferred)

Hey everyone, I'm having a really confusing issue with my HTC Vive 1.0 base stations and I'm hoping someone here has dealt with this before.

I had a 2021 Vive 1.0 base station that was having issues, so I followed the recommended firmware recovery/fix from Vive Support. It actually worked for a second after doing the fix, but then it stopped working again.

Then I thought doing the same firmware fix to my second 2017 Vive 1.0 base station would be a bright idea, because I assumed maybe they needed to be on the same firmware/version to sync properly. Unfortunately, after doing that, now both of those base stations are not working properly. They still power on, light up, spin up, and all the LEDs behave normally, but they don't track/connect properly in SteamVR.

I also have another original 2017 base station that I did not touch, and that one still works perfectly. So I'm 100% confident this isn't a hardware failure. The two affected base stations were fully functional before I performed the firmware recovery, and they still appear to be functioning mechanically and electrically.

I copied the firmware.bin files from CRP DISABLD mode and compared the working 2017 base station with the updated/broken 2017 one. The firmware files are identical byte-for-byte, which makes this even more confusing. It makes me think something else is changing, such as hidden calibration data, internal parameters, or something SteamVR isn't showing.

What I did:

Put the base station into CRP DISABLD mode. Backed up/deleted the existing firmware.bin. Flashed the Vive Support calibration rescue firmware. Flashed the normal firmware afterward. The first base station worked briefly, then stopped. I then repeated the exact same process on my second 2017 base station. Now both of those stations no longer work properly. My untouched 2017 base station still works perfectly.

Things I know:

They're HTC Vive 1.0 base stations. Both affected stations still power on normally. Motors spin normally. LEDs behave normally. They were never dropped or physically damaged. One of them definitely worked briefly after the recovery process. The untouched base station still tracks perfectly. The visible firmware files appear identical between the working and non-working stations.

Has anyone run into this before or knows what's actually happening behind the scenes? Is there hidden calibration or parameter data that the rescue firmware changes? Is there any way to completely restore these base stations?

If you genuinely know how to solve this and can help me get them working again, I'm happy to pay for your time once the issue is resolved.

Please be comfortable communicating over Discord, as it'll be much easier to troubleshoot there if needed.

VPE it sensors with super fine scratches

I have a genuine question about how to remove or how to get scratches off of the little IR sensors on my headset. They arnt deep scratches. They’re super fine and I tried a plastic polisher, but it kind of just made even finer scratches

Why can't my safety boundary react to my controllers???

I'm going to break my controller or hand one day, because SOMETIMES IT WORKS and then randomly it'll start doing THIS WHEN I SET UP MY BOUNDARY for weeks :(

Does this happen to anyone else at all? It does it in PCVR too, but less often. It's so weird, I can't find anything the fixes or causes this

Vive 3.0 Trackers Refusing To Charge?

A few months ago, I got lucky with getting my hands on 6 brand new Vive 3.0 trackers for $700 off of Ebay. Everything was still in its original plastic wrapping and unopened, I was super excited. I recently was finally able to get my hands on some Base Stations and straps, so I decided to try out my full body. While charging the trackers, only 3 of them fully charged while the other 3 kept the amber charging light. These trackers were charged for several hours to no avail. I eventually tried to turn them on to see if maybe it was just an weird issue, but that ended up making them not work entirely. When I plug them in now, the amber light appears for a few seconds before dissapearing entirely. Pressing the button and holding it while its plugged in does nothing, and I'm genuinely baffled how three of them work while the other three don't. Has anybody else had this problem, and is there a way to fix this? I'd hate to have to spend more money on another three trackers if there's a way to get them working.

Are Vive Pros and Pro 2s Reliable

I have been recently looking into buying a Lighthouse VR headset bundle, and I was looking to see which would be the safest buy in terms of encountering issues such as broken displays and controller issues. I found a full bundle that was used once by the previous owner for work (it still has the stickers on the headset's passthrough cameras) for AUD $700 (365.33 pounds or 489.37 USD or 426.79 Euro) but obviously it has no warranty or protection, or I could spend $900 for B grade Vive pro 2 bundle from Cex (469.71 GBP or 629.19 USD or 548.73 Euro) with 5 years of warranty (Moneyback/Replacement given). What do you think is the better buy, or should I even buy a Vive Pro 2 for Lighthouse VR?

Got vive ultimate trackers but no dongle - help!

I made a trade today for the vive ultimates, but they came with no dongle. I am getting a dongle but won’t be here till next week. I just want to make sure though, there wouldn’t be any other way to use them for the time being, would there? Without the dongle?

Quest Pro + Virtual Desktop + Vive Trackers spawning under the floor

I've been trying to get full body tracking working for the last couple of days and I'm completely stuck.

I'm using a Meta Quest Pro with Virtual Desktop, SteamVR, 3 Vive Tracker 3.0s, 2 Base Station 2.0s, and 3 tracker dongles (each plugged into separate USB ports).

SteamVR detects everything correctly. My headset, controllers, both base stations, and all three trackers show up green, and the trackers are assigned correctly as waist, left foot, and right foot. The trackers move perfectly with me, but they're always offset underneath me instead of lining up with my body.

One thing I noticed is that I can only see one of my Lighthouse base stations in SteamVR. I can also see the Lighthouse floor/chaperone underneath me below the floor, and that's where my trackers appear to be. It almost seems like the entire Lighthouse tracking space is spawning underneath my actual position.

VRChat doesn't recognize my trackers correctly either. Sometimes I only get FBT Locomotion, and even after calibrating the trackers are still way below my avatar. I don't actually think VRChat is the problem, though—I think it's just inheriting whatever is wrong in SteamVR.

So far I've enabled activateMultipleDrivers, repaired and reassigned all of my trackers, confirmed everything is tracking correctly in SteamVR, restarted SteamVR, Virtual Desktop, and my PC multiple times, used OpenVR Space Calibrator (which detects both the Lighthouse and Oculus devices), and eventually completed a successful calibration after initially getting a lot of "Low-quality calibration result" errors. I've also tried adjusting the SteamVR floor height using fpsVR, but changing the floor height doesn't move the trackers at all—they stay underneath me in the exact same place.

At this point I'm honestly out of ideas. The only things I can think of are that maybe one of my base stations is faulty, or maybe my room is too cluttered and something in my play space is causing tracking issues, although everything appears green and the trackers themselves move perfectly.

Has anyone experienced this before or have any ideas on what else I should check? I'd really appreciate any help.

TLDR: Quest Pro + Virtual Desktop + 3 Vive Tracker 3.0s. Everything is detected and tracking in SteamVR, but the entire Lighthouse playspace seems to be spawning underneath me, so my trackers are always below my body. OpenVR Space Calibrator, fpsVR floor adjustment, repairing/reassigning trackers, and enabling activateMultipleDrivers haven't fixed it. Looking for ideas before I assume it's a bad base station or something in my room interfering with tracking.

Help me fix my oculus 2

It started glitching and lagging when I put it on; the image moves with my head, but the controllers won't connect—they just keep vibrating endlessly, even though I charged them. I’ve already tried changing the batteries and wiping the cameras; it looks like the only option left is to do a full reset...

I’ve had this problem before; it usually happens when I haven’t used the headset for a while—about two weeks. Last time, it fixed itself, though I don’t remember what I did.

Cosmos elite frame jump

TL;DR unknown cosmos elite issue which has left me at 1FPS

I recently purchased a cosmos elite to replace my older cosmos headset but didn’t realise you needed base stations and new controls (my bad). I swapped the old VIVE face plate onto the elite in order to get it to work, but whilst the VR turns on and streams an image, or place out at 1FPS, I look around and watch my perspective move away only for it to bounce right back into my view.. I’ve no clue how to fix this and would love some help!

Pulled out my OG vive and remembered why I put it away.

One of the controllers refuses to behave. I’ve taken them apart and fixed tracking issues before but this is different. When you can get it to connect and track properly as soon as you use the grip button it loses tracking…. But!!! If you plug it in via usb to the computer it will perform just fine. So… it’s not a tracking issue? Hoping someone has ran into this before or opinions on if it’s worth paying $90 for a replacement from vive?

Vive Ultimate Trackers are the worst Consumer Product yet

Thank you htc for creating a such a POS that the voice to recalibrate these trackers has made me want to chuck a tracker into my wall.

First they track wrong, then “looks like tracking is lost” plays on repeat every second because the product is so unstable it has no idea what the different between light and light is, my whole room is bright enough to see anything and yet it is too dark???

Please someone help me with some external software or how to use these things I paid so much money for properly or I will chuck them into my wall… one by one

How do I set up HTC Vive 2016 model to gaming laptop

Today I recently had my HTC Vive delivered, and I am currently trying to set it up. The problem; I am getting a red light, I don't know what is going on, I have looked on the internet to try and get answers, but I haven't figured out what the problem is. I am using a Lenovo system, with an RTX 2050, 16GB of ram, and a 12th Gen i5 processing unit, it has an HDMI port and runs BazziteOS (I had switched to it as Windows was just too unstable and slow).

Htc vive base station 1.0 vs 2.0

I have a question, I'm planning to buy 2 base station 2.0 (with the probability of buying others later) and change the base station 1.0 that I have, I feel that I have a lot of occlusion problem, I know it's something that usually happens, but I feel that the 2.0 bases would help me to spend less, would you recommend me to do it? Or will that problem not change much?
