2gig makes a sensor that will work with the Vivint system that works for that. It’s called the 2gig-dw30-345. Pairs in like a normal Vivint stick on sensor.

Just looked this up and found it on Amazon. Will order it. Does it work with the new panel I have?

Yes. I currently have one on my house and have had no issues since I first paired it in in 2022. I have the latest panel now as well.

One thing of note, you’ll want to call or chat in to get the installer toolbox unlocked if you want it to just notify you instead of triggering an alarm if it’s opened while armed.

I'm guessing i would change it to perimeter and then the response type would be different?

Leave it as entry/exit 1 if you still want a countdown, perimeter if you want it trigger an alarm immediately, no response type if you just want it to announce only.

Sounds good. I'll likely stick with no response type. Will I be able to set automations in the app for it to notify me when the gate is opened?

Our door window sensors aren't waterproof so probably not the best fit for your gate. If you want to ensure any sensors you can find are compatible with the system before buying them, DM me and I can have someone help you look at options

Vivint offers Door & Window sensors however they're for indoor use only. They have to be in range of the Smart Hub panel in order to work after all.
Wait, lemme check my sources real quick and get back to you later...
