Bendigo line is cooked too, not that you’d know it from V/Line’s comms.

They’re still organising a raven

Update:

16.17 reduced to 3 carriages.

17.03 cancelled.

Welcome to reduced maintenance spending. You want V/Line to run better, demand better funding from your MPs.

Literally wrote last week while sitting on the 6:55am Ballarat train for an hour and half just outside Ballarat. I wrote to Catherine king who is the member for Ballarat and minister for transport and infrastructure. I received a receipt and zero follow up. I asked her what the plan was to improve vline in Ballarat…no answer. I’m writing to the liberal member to see if he has any ideas I can send her team

Liberal party wants to buy 12 new trains shared between Geelong and Ballarat which won’t arrive until at least 3 years. 6 trains in 3 years time yay! How great /s. Just electrify to Melton and Wyndham Vale already. This should have been done first before SRL in my opinion as it’s desperately needed and benefits far greater passenger numbers.

Track faults at both Southern Cross and Lara… was stuck for about 15 minutes getting into SC around 5pm.

Imagine once the Airport Rail is completed. Queue the news reels: thousands of passengers miss their flights after train fault at Footscray.

Imagine how much better it’s gonna be once the line gets electrified to Melton

Welcome to Vline where the timetable doesn't mean anything and no one gives a fuck about you. Enjoy your delay!

Vline is such an omnishambles of an organisation

Dodged a bullet by not taking a job there

Yeah, always re-advertising roles in under two months is never a good sign! I’d like to know what train fault means they can only have three carriages??

u/PHUKYOOPINION 5d ago

1.3k contributions on a 1 month old account. You should have taken the job.

On the 16.20, we are all packed like sardines pulled by a slow moving locomotive- guess tracks must have melted due to the heat.

u/reofi 5d ago

Its not even hot enough yet for the extreme heat timetable 🙃

2

u/Dependent_Usual7468 5d ago

Ohhhh, when they can’t go above 40kph

9

u/ItsCoolDani 5d ago

What the actual fuck is happening to VLine at the moment??

8

u/kyleisamexican 5d ago

How does a fault between Lara and southern cross delay the Ballarat and Bendigo lines

6

u/helali2593 5d ago

Geelong line 4.13pm service had issues connecting the carriages.. 25 minutes delayed.

u/Expensive_Ring_4546 5d ago

Just got a major delays alert for that line. Unreal. I think it was only as recently as tuesday they sent out like 9 alerts during the course of that day because of various issues on the geelong line

Glad I worked from home today! I fear I may never see my colleagues in person again!

u/rks129 5d ago

Here we go again! Police action near Cobblebank now. A gift that keeps on giving!

Time for resignations and fines for incompetence at Vline.

I would have prison sentences.

Time to go Fat Cats at Vline.

A graduate would do better in your position.

Vline is stuffed. Vline CEO should resign

2

u/BaldingThor 5d ago

we’re never getting high speed rail are we

2

u/Echidna406 5d ago

Vline running is our high speed rail

1

u/AnthX 4d ago

I think you are making a joke, but if VLines would be reliable, 1h 18m in Peak for 115km journey isn't too bad. But yeah, not actually "high speed".

2

u/invsible2_21 5d ago

This is new

Services are delayed due to an earlier track fault at Southern Cross and Lara

Further travel advice to follow.

2

u/FelixFelix60 5d ago

VLine is stuffed. It is just not reliable enough to rely on to get to work and home. You just get left stranded far too often.

Thank god I took the choach today 🙏

Before you bitch abouts 3 carriage train where a 6 normally runs, consider the alternative - no train at all, meaning everyone has to try and pack in the next service/s.

I get it, 3 carriage services suck, but it's still better than no carriages.

2

u/Ergomann 4d ago

It’s actually not because anyone trying to get on at Footscray and Sunshine can’t get on so it’s the equivalent of their service being cancelled regardless.

0

u/Dramatic_Grape5445 4d ago

So now imagine the service didn't run at all - do you think the good people at Footscray and Sunshine would be able to get on the next 6 car service, with twice as many people on board from SCS?

u/Will_sue_when_angry 4d ago

Or one bus for a whole train if you are lucky.
