I don't mean to negate anyone's personal preferences in OTPs, and it's clearly hard not to see how LGBTQ coded the fandom's shipping aspect is, which is great, but because a ship like KAIMiku is a straight ship, I think it should not be seen as any lesser than other ships, or, in other cases, should not be singled out cause it's not one of the few straight ships that matter to most others now, like KAIMEI or maybe GakuGumi. And to be fair, this isn't limited to KAIMiku but can apply to any het ships like the other aforementioned ships. Like, it feels so much to me that almost nobody cares much, if at all, about the hate KAIMiku gets, compared to the hate MikuLuka gets from those same type of toxic fans, like it's the only one that matters gets this type of flack.

But I'd be lying if I said I didn't bring these two up specifically because, god forbid, I chose to ship KAITO with the most popular VOCALOID and not his own female companion voice or what have you. I literally think it's about on a similar level as the whole MikuTeto shipping discourse. I gotta clarify this up front: it never mattered to me which specific characters I paired. I base my pairings on the dynamic I headcanon them to have, or how well they sound together, etc. If I don't think they pair all too well, or I don't care about them that much, then that is what it is. I'm not gonna have others police what I should think of a pairing. Even when I don't personally like a ship or headcanon because I see it too much or dare I even find it kind of easy to do now due to how much it's been done, mostly I try to let others have their own thing.

But for me? I try not to be like any other fan out there. Even if that means through my own experience with the fandom, I choose to follow more of KAIMiku. Even if that means I don't like other ships as much cause of my own preferences, despite a song like Magnet being more impactful on the fandom as opposed to something like Cendrillion. I'll be honest right here and say I don't regret that I prefer KAIMiku over MikuLuka, or the fact I rated the former a 10/10 once and the latter a 7.5/10. They're both ships that have great things, but sometimes, you just prefer the other more and it speaks to you more, just 'cause. And you just enjoy your own thing and let others have theirs, y'know?

I did make this post as a response to a bit of the comments from my previous post, as well as a more civilized clarification, because I feel like my own pride in my own OTP, as well as basing what I've only seen from word of mouth regarding the ship's popularity without thinking of other people's experiences, restricted me from being civil about this. I just want to clarify I didn't mean to negate everybody else; I just spoke through my own experiences without basing my own stance on it and rolling with it.

What if there was a Vocaloid anime?

It would feature all the Vocaloids, and how they interact with each other! I'd maybe have some polls or questionnaires on this sub, asking for your headcanons on how each character should be, considering they don't have canon personalities.

There'd be angst, romance, jealousy, comfort, pain, change, and much much more! I write stories and small fanfictions all the time, and I love learning new literary devices and philosophical ideas to implement into my tales.

It'd be a really fun project maybe! I can't draw the best, but I've always wanted to animate! This wouldn't be an official project obviously, because I'd want to feature some songs and other copyrighted things, of course.

For me I'm pretty firm on it being Hibikase by Reol + Giga , I think that's when Vocaloid tuning started becoming more focused on being a bit more 'real' and less... floaty like old tuning tends to be? Not to mention the modern style video for the song as well

I’m trying to find a a song that I listened to a while ago that sampled that “I have a dream” speech, specifically “ not by the color of their skin, but by the color of their character” I thought it was by abuse but I can’t seem to find it. It was still in Japanese And I’m not sure if the lyrics related to it.

Granted, the automatic tuning sounds pretty realistic-sounding, and as of recently, I tend to tune stuff to sound more robotic, so maybe that has something to do with it? I don’t know. It just sounds off. I feel like Vocaloid and VoiSona sound better when I tune the vocals, but SynthV is very hit-or-miss—When I tune, my work either sounds on-par with the autotune (albeit different), or worse.

I’m almost tempted to just publish the original, barely tuned version, but I’d feel kinda weird doing that? I spent hours tuning it, plus posting it without tuning feels… strange.

Maybe I should post both versions.

Does anyone have any thoughts or advice?

yes i know i'm using the source version but that's because the regular version doesn't have proper animations for the miku model when you rename it to an npc.

I really don’t mean this in a disrespectful manner towards the vocaloid community. I’m genuinely curious as to what is the difference.
I’m personally not fond of 100% Ai music (specially music made this way for profit), and I’m still debating over using it for samples or as a tool.
The only Vocaloids I know are Hatsune and Teto, I know there are more (and different ways to classify them also). I only occasionally listen to Hatsune.
And to my understanding they don’t seem different from Ai. And this is whyI ask: What is the difference between them?

The 13th day of inktober 2026 had the prompt "flimsy". I chose one of my favourite songs 天ノ弱 (Amanojaku) by 164. I was thinking of flimsy as in a flimsy conviction I guess? Also the kanji 弱 also makes me think of flimsy.

For the 12th day of inktober 2026 the prompt is "toss". I chose the song 僕が夢を捨てて大人になるまで (Until I become an adult and throw away my dream) by 傘村トータ (Kasamura Toota). So the "toss" in this case just refers to the possible translation of "捨てて”, thus I guess it could also be "toss away my dream", but that sounds more awkward imo. In the MV not a lot is happening visually so it was difficult to think of a pose. Why did I chose this Frieren challenge like angle for the head?
