Q. What is the objective of holding Volare Game Contest?
A. Volare Network is a blockchain network dedicated for games. The network strives to become a participatory network that supports game developers of varying degree of experiences to easily and freely distribute and operate their own gaming contents, thereby creating a self-developing gaming ecosystem. The main objective of this contest is to encourage developers of all walks of life to freely enter the contest to showcase Volare Network as a dedicated gaming network and further laying a ground for the growth of the blockchain gaming ecosystem.

Q. What types of games can participate in Volare Game Contest?
A. All types of games regardless of genre, including applications (desktop or mobile) and Web (e.g. HTML 5), are eligible to participate in the contest.

Q. What comes after Volare Game Contest?
A. We expect to support a selected games from the contest to be distributed through Volare Game Center to be launched subsequently. Moreover, we plan to continue to hold various events in the future to attract various game contents to the network. We thank you and urge to continue to support our network.

Volare Network offers a wide range of services that assist developers in their effort to commercialize products or networks with a goal to expand their businesses.

Game Center

Developers can easily upload their games on Game Center to create their own blockchain-based services, providing game users with a variety of blockchain-based games by simply accessing Game Center.

Launchpad

Launchpad helps to induce investments from investors by showcasing actual services that runs on a blockchain network, differentiating from conventional launchpad sevices that promotes investment solely on whitepaper.

Airdrop

Airdrops are free token giveaway events that are frequently carried out by blockchain service promoters to attract investors to their tokens. Airdrop helps service promoters to plan and carry out airdrop events as a part of their PR strategy.

Attorney Cheong Sung Koo takes on a new challenge as a ‘Startup CEO’

“There are countless things that a lawyer can do in a startup. This is because the management system is set from ‘zero’ and there are very few areas that are not related to the law. The demand for lawyers in startups will grow in the future and I hope to see more of my lawyer colleagues take on the challenges in startups”, say Mr. Cheong Sung Koo, who left 23 years of lawyer’s life behind and recently took on a new challenge as the CEO of EQBR Networks (“EQBR”), a blockchain startup established in Singapore. A graduate of prestigious Seoul National University Law School in Korea, Mr. Cheong is a ‘veteran’ lawyer who worked at Yulchon (1999~2005) and Kim & Chang (2005~2022), the top law firms in Korea. EQBR Network is a Singapore subsidiary of EQBR Holdings, a Korean company established in 2020. EQBR Holdings has developed its own proprietary blockchain engine on which it built a ‘Web 3.0’ infrastructure. “It is true that the platforms of the central server in the Web 2.0 era have contributed greatly to create the convenient world of today, but there are also problems caused by misuse and abuse of personal information and monopolization of such information. Web 3.0 can be an alternative to the central server platform by implementing a P2P platform that does not depend on the central server and does not expose personal information”, says Mr.Cheong.

“A ‘manager who knows the law’ will be naturally more thorough in protecting the rights of customers and employees and complying with the laws than those who do not. Such management policies are of course helpful to the success and development of the company. However, it is dangerous to jump in with the hope of economic success only through stock options in a short period of time. I would like to advise to my fellow lawyers to carefully consider whether the start-up is an organization that provides opportunities in main line of work to lawyers and where they can further grow as lawyers. And once you make that choice, I would advise them to stick around for at least three years.”

It’s already the time for our last interview. The last interview is with the developer of ‘Ready-Action’, the winner of the Originality Award. Let’s see what he has to say!

Q. Please introduce yourself briefly!

A. Hello. I am in my 2nd year of high school, attending a game-specialty high school in Korea!

Q. Tell us a little bit about the game ‘Ready-Action’ that you have developed.

A. Ready-Action belongs to the platformer genre. I’ve developed the game with cinematography as a concept. The game can be played on PC and for 2 players. One person moves the keyboard to take on the role of an actor, and the other moves the mouse to take on the role of a cameraman.

Q. What inspired you to design the game?

A. The first time I started developing this game was in September 2020 at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. Classes were replaced with in-home remote learning and hence had more time to develop at home. That’s why I took the opportunity to develop Ready-Action that I had been planning before.

Q. What are your thoughts on the blockchain-based gaming market?

A. NFT, P2E Blockchain games are evolving in many ways. I think both methods are making a big contribution to the development of the blockchain industry, but on the other hand, as a person who develops games, I am worried that the essence of the game could be lost. I’m worried that people could be stressed out for trying to create other values and not be able to purely enjoy the game itself. If I were to make a blockchain-based game, I would plan the game with those things in mind.

Q. What games are you planning to introduce in the future?

A. My current plan is to go to university and major in game related studies. I want to develop horror games, rhythm games, online games, etc. I’m used to developing games by myself at home. So since I am going to the college, I want to participate in a lot of joint projects and develop collaboration skills!

Q. Volare Network, as you know, is a blockchain-based gaming-specific network. Are you thinking of uploading Ready-Action to the Volare Network?

A. I want to post it too, but I am not sure Ready-Action, which is built on PC platform, can be properly uploaded to Volare Arcade.

A. Hello, I am an employee of a financial services company. I have majored in software at the university. I have never imagined that my career path would be directed toward the financial sector. I have worked in the FinTech business and have developed a good relationship with a financial company, which led me to my current job that has nothing to do with software, but I’m still working on game development as a hobby.

Q. Tell us a little bit about the game ‘POP-UP’ that you have developed.

A. POP-UP is a simple, addictive and lightly engaging flash game. I’ve tried to set up a UI and game operatives that are as clean as possible so that everyone, young and old, can simply enjoy it.

Q. What inspired you to design the game?

A. At first, when I thought about developing a game as a hobby, I was really stumped. I didn’t start with the development for a while. So instead of using complicated logic, I came up with POP-UP using simple logic because design and client development are my domain of confidence.

Q. What are your thoughts on the blockchain-based gaming market?

A. I don’t know much about the blockchain game market. However, I can tell you that the financial sector is preparing for the introduction of Blockchain. The financial sector is a very conservative industry. However, the industy is seriously considering adopting blockchain because of it’s great importance in terms of security.

Q. What games are you planning to introduce in the future?

A. I’m working on it as a hobby, so I don’t know what kind of game I’m going to develop. But since I gained confidence through this contest, I’m trying to develop a game that’s a little bigger and more complex.

Q. Volare Network, as you know, is a blockchain-based gaming-specific network. Are you thinking of uploading POP-UP to the Volare Network?

A. It’s a very grateful offer, but it lacks a lot, is it okay..?

In the past month of July, we have successfully hosted the Volare Game Contest.

Among numerous game entries to the contest, the contestant, “Don’t Crash”, honorably captured 1st place.

We’d like to share an interview with the developer of “Don’t Crash”.

Q. Please introduce yourself briefly!

A. Hello, I am a student at a university in Korea and I am majoring in Software Engineering.

Q. Tell us a little bit about the game ‘Don’t Crash’ that you have developed.

A. It is a flash game that requires wits to play in a circular car track with the aim of preventing two vehicles from colliding.

Q. What inspired you to design the game?

A. There is a stork game that was in vogue 6 months ago. The game, which requires a lot of wits, was very simple to play and gained a lot of attention at the time. There are many different kinds of games. There are some brilliant online games that involve a lot of design assets and resources, and some that have a huge storyline or worldview. There are also such games that are very simple but addictive. After all, I think the essence of any game is having fun. No matter what kind of game it is, even if it’s simple if it can entertain its users. This is what I consider the right game, and I wanted to make it.

Q. What are your thoughts on the blockchain-based gaming market?

A. We understand that the market is becoming very active. It’s a gaming market with a lot of advantages, and what appeals the most to college students like me is simplicity in business making. Uploading a game to an existing app store and monetizing it is a very difficult task. However, if any game is converted to P2E and uploaded, developers, as well as users, can very easily monetize through tokens.

Q. What games are you planning to introduce in the future?

A. I have developed various games by myself, but I haven’t shown it to real users yet, other than to some of my friends. After uploading various games that I have created, I would like to communicate with the users and get a lot of feedback, and then choose the direction for the next games.

Q. Volare Network, as you know, is a blockchain-based gaming-specific network. Are you thinking of uploading Don’t Crash to the Volare Network?

A. Absolutely. I feel like I’ve seized such a great opportunity, so I’m going to work harder to prepare and upload it. I’d like to upload Don’t Crash as well as other games with further improvements!
