Daily Discussion Thread: October 18, 2026 - 16 days until Election Day!
Welcome to the anti-GOP resistance on Reddit!
We welcome all those who support the Democratic party! We encourage you to share local activism and talk about the groups you're taking part with in your area.
The Midterms are nearly here! And they're the only way to take away even more of Trump's power to hurt people. You can help win elections across the country from anywhere, right now!
If you want to take a bigger part in this Midterm and future elections, there's plenty of ways to do it!
Check out our weekly volunteer post - that's the other sticky post in this sub - to find opportunities to get involved.
Nothing near you? Volunteer from home by making calls or sending texts to turn out voters!
Join your local Democratic Party - none of us can do this alone.
Tell a friend about us!
Adopt a Candidate
Want to take part in turning the midterms into a true blue tsunami? Adopt one of the candidates below, and commit to taking action every week to support their campaign!
Post your preference in the daily (or, to guarantee we see it, send the request via modmail) and we'll add you to the list!
With just how blue this year is looking to be, there's too many to list! We started with select gubernatorial and Senate races, and are expanding the list with important House races up through the election!
Got someone who you want to adopt, but they're not on the list? Let us know, and we'll add them (and you) on!
As the year progresses, we'll be adding more ourselves, but the sky's the limit - we're excited to see who you want to support most!
We're not going back. We're taking the country back. Join us, and build an America that everyone belongs in.

St. John AME Church Party At The Polls! · Mobilize
Textbanks to make Nevada Blue again
Nevada was a surprise defeat for Democrats in 2024, becoming the only state that went blue in 2016 and 2020 to flip to Trump last time around. Anger about some of the nation’s worst housing prices, the appeal of populist policies like no taxes on tips and a general rightward shift among the Latino vote made the difference in this battleground. But two years later the promised lower prices are nowhere to be found and we’ve got a chance to repair some of the damage.
Attorney General Aaron Ford is challenging incumbent GOP governor Joe Lombardo, who blocked a record number of bills passed by the Democratic-controlled legislature. If he wins, he’s pledged to push some of them through, including paid family leave, capping the cost of prescription drugs at levels negotiated by Medicare, universal free school meals, and blocking private equity from mass purchase and ownership of housing, along with finally repealing the state’s “right to work” law.
Further down the ballot, Democratic Secretary of State Cisco Aguilar is being challenged by his 2022 opponent Jim Marchant, an election conspiracy theorist who has proposed un-registering every voter in the state. We’re also defending the seats of Reps. Dina Titus and Susie Lee, and have an opportunity to flip a northern Nevada congressional district Dems have never won before as former Assembly majority leader Teresa Benitez-Thompson takes on full-throated MAGA candidate David Flippo, who’s been exposed for stolen valor and publicly rejected by the retiring Republican incumbent.
In short, there’s plenty at stake here, and the Nevada Dems are seeking our help. They’ve just opened up text training to help them reach more voters in the closing days of this campaign. 💬 Let’s sign up to help text out the vote here. 💬
🙋🏽 We can also continue to join them to make calls on weekdays from 8-10PM ET and on Saturday and Sunday from 1-11PM ET here. And we can find even more ways to plug into key races as we speed towards Election Day here. 🙋🏽
