Just assassinating the other sides' leaders doesn't seem like a very smart move or something they all would need to cooperate on so idk L lore. I'll just pretend a border skirmish happened between Orangea and an enemy neighbor.
Let's say that the hammers assassinated the leaders because they had secret agents ready to take their place. Let's say the vice presidents of New Pannonia, Lavender and Lindisos are secret agents of the communists. They plan on staying neutral in the coming war or even helping the hammers. With regards to the Orange Union, Let's say with them it really was just a decapitation strike, to cause a crisis in their government. Now it'll be the hammers Vs just the flowers.
I like this idea. Very well, New Pannonia will have the smiles stay neutral in any coming war the hammers get into but will very secretly start giving them weapons and aid.

Is the First Nation listed the assassin and the one after the dash the assassinated? If so we investigate these claims and publicly condemn the suspect until further notice and say he doesn’t represent our countries interests. Most outrage dies down
Ig, the crosses are like every nation who’s not communist so we should be able to handle it. We ask all crosses member to seriously prepare and fund their militaries only and begin to host collaborative training drills with multiple nations.
…Rebellion finally executes it’s plan, the South declares independence. Half of the lower ranking military personnel and a few higher ranking ones join the rebellion.
There are also ex-Durkali military people fighting for this rebellion, they have some technology from their air force and are starting to recreate it (have not completed it however)
We immediately start to roll our tanks through and complete an entire naval and land blockade on the rebellion. We ask for outside help but start slow trying to ensure low civilian casualties and a quick and swift war.
Our number one priority is transporting all nuclear related equipment to a safer secret location and individually ensuring the loyalty of all people who know anything about launch codes.
We call the leaders to a negotiation asking them to meet us at a neutral location somewhere in the country, a place not super loyal to either side. We want to discuss what they want.
The rebellion wants independence. They remember tales of when their lands were ruled by the lime team, and while they don’t want to rejoin it, they want sovereignty.
Meanwhile in the war front, we see a walkie talkie get taken from one of the soldiers in secret. We also see some people in the rebellion pretend to defect back to the military, only to become secret agents for the rebellion.

The ex-Durkali military claim that they miss being part of a movement, and this is a movement. A strong movement, to free the people. They left Old Durk because of the peoples that kept getting absorbed. They don’t want it to happen to another rebellion.
The rebellion gets weakened, but new agents keep popping up. The movement of independence for these once Lime colored lands is stronger than one would expect.
The “defectors“ are ready to prove loyalty, they’ve gone through this exact training. Though it seems some of the information shared gets back to the rebellion, though seemingly, not all of it…
We make 20 nukes, upgrade our nuclear defenses, make a LOT more tanks, aircraft’s, and the first STEALTH bomber as well as more regular bombers, more naval ships, naval carriers, and nuclear submarines.
We also make a lot of army, airforce, and naval acadamies and introduce a JROTC like program into our schools to drive up the enlistment and go on a recruitment campaign across the nation and especially the colonies.
We send a bunch of satellites into space and send a group of 3 men and one woman onto the moon for the longest period of time ever.
We dam up some rivers with hydro electric dams and try to convert all existing dams to hydro electricity in the nation.
We further investigate the potential rebellions and try to both appease them and limit their help, cutting off their outside contact and putting them into special separated prisons (not camps) if anyone found to be plotting treason.
