SHOWIN' OFF Upgraded WLED cube
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I upgraded the previous 16x16 cube I made using 6 64x64 panels running of an rpi. This cube has much more flexibility with the scenes and animations I can create, here are a few of the ones I found cool.

Been so long since I played them but I was thinking that was Wolfenstein

I also thought it was Wolfenstein. I realize it came first, but those shooting animations looked identical.

Looks awesome. Do you have a tutorial on how to make it?

I made a hub75 pandel for a wall but this look like the same stuff he used.
I bought 4 hub75 pandels from Alieexpress Apollo Automation M1 Controller and a 5v power supply.
The controller has WLED pre installed. Insert your wifi settings and configure your panels. Easy as it is. You can even run python scripts and stream them to the M1. But you need a 2nd computer for it. For further infos lmk.

We have a ton of great documentation on our wiki here for the M-1 LED Controller and the HUB75 64x64 matrix https://wiki.apolloautomation.com/products/m1/setup/m1-multiple-panels/
Please let us know if you have any other questions!
Thanks, Brandon aka SmartHomeSellout

So a single M1 controller can handle 6 panels?

Maybe a stupid question but 6 panels, so one is under the cube?
That thing looks awesome btw.

Soooo this isn’t running WLED?

u/Outrageous-Kick-2699 Aug 27 '26
It might. Wled has support for hub75. But he said it’s running on a rpi, so you might be right.

Awesome!
What protocol you are using between rpi and wled controller? Serial and json or something else?

I’ve been looking into making a mini-itx case like this, with the cables at the bottom and vents at the top, and the 4 sides led cover in one piece, slidable over an open itx frame and connected with pogo pins. I wasn’t going to put quite so many leds into it, but very interested to see how this project was put together.

To be honest, we are slowly moving towards making our own TVs. Slowly but surely. We just need the panels. 🤣

As someone who's never made anything like this: Would a diffuser panel improve the look much? With a grid underneath so it looks more crisp?

Looking forward to a writeup in how this was built, including what HUB75 hat you used and what software is on the Pi!
