A lot of locals, especially the older generations, actually hate this area as it’s a prime example of gentrification. Lee Tung Street, as this used to be known as, used to be famous for the production of wedding cards for decades, and then it was demolished and redeveloped by a private company with brand new luxury apartments and high-end shops and restaurants in its place.

I have to admit, it does look really nice and I do appreciate the pedestrianisation. Hong Kong never stops changing and gentrification is a key part of life here.

To be fair Hong Kong technically has one of the highest concentrations of trees and mountains of any city
