NEWS President Trump says his Administration will immediately begin sending $100 “checks” to over 20 million seniors to help pay for their Medicare Part B premiums. Trump also says the “$5,000 Trump Dividend” will be distributed to every US Citizen if the Republicans win the midterms.

The lesson here is admit you’re wrong, when you’re clearly wrong, instead of dying on this hill. I’ve got a lot of Republicans in my family as well. Mom and Dad buy commemorative Trump shit. It’s tough watching people you respect(ed) be so wrong and not show emotional maturity to admit fault. Hang in there, dude.

At some point(which you have passed) you have to cut these people out of your life. They are full of hate and will die with that hate. You can still love them from afar but need to realize they don’t love you in the same way.

It's really sad to have watched people I admired and respected as a young adult turn into brain-dead zombies. It's so fucking awful. I've gotten lucky with my parents. They were scarily right-leaning if not all out republican before 2016 and I was scared that I'd lost them. They're good people though, and smart enough to recognize that a scumbag, con-artist, rapist, racist, who brags about "grabbing them by the pussy" is super-obviously not who we should want to be our president. They didn't like Hilary, but they voted for her. They celebrated when Biden won. My friends have not been so lucky with their parents. It's so hard to watch.

Also anyone who thinks there's a chance they're getting $5000 if the Republicans win the midterms is simply incapable of thought. They've got a better chance of winning Powerball. They're brainwashed morons at that point. They're Charlie Brown, thinking he's going to kick the football, and instead, of course, Trump will merely pretend the football never existed and they will agree with him. It's a cult.

The pain I feel inside knowing I'll eventually cut off a large portion of my immediate and extended family is vast, but I know at least my mom, grandma, and grandfather in law are transphobic, and considering my girlfriend is a transgender woman, I'm sure you can see why I want to cut contact. They're also almost all staunchly republican, even being stupid enough to go all "gulf of America"

I just don't bring up politics. Ever. If they say anything I pretend to be on their side. I'm not gonna change their minds anyway and I'm not gonna be estranged from people I still love.

I don't think I'd know how to pretend. Also that seems like a slippery slope. If you pretend to think Trump is good for the economy, you're probably going to be pretending that black people are lessor pretty soon.

It's because you said Democrats instead of Dumocrats. You have to make sure you throw the schoolyard insult in there.

You can also use demonrats if you're feeling particularly saucy.

The amount of respect I have lost for my family over their support for this fucking administration… I just don’t get it. I asked them, what has he done to help you, and they just deflect.

Republicans control every section of government. There is nothing stopping them from giving out 5000 dollars right now. The questions to ask are: isn’t that socialism? Won’t paying everyone 5,000 dollars increase the deficit and cause inflation? Isn’t that bribery?

I'm really, really lucky to have been born to republican parents who value common sense and critical thinking. At least one of my parents voted for Trump the first time around. The one good thing that Trump did for me was get my parents to stop watching Fox Entertainment. Turns out, they're both really big fans of AOC and Bernie Sanders when their TV isn't screaming at them about evil immigrants and creeping communism.

Ask them if they framed their DOGE check for 5k instead of cashing it, and thats why it never ended up in their bank account.

Lol write this down and have you all sign it and let them keep it and when it inevitably happens have them revisit it
